Abstract

A disposable display system comprises modular flat-packed self-assembly columns and display panels which when erected and secured by means of a series of interlocking sliders, form a single usable display unit. The columns (10) are of hexagonal cross-section and are made up of triangular sections(13, figure 3) held together by the sliders (11, figure 5). A plurality of units may be interlocked to form a larger display arrangement.

Description

2335298 DISPOSABLE DISPLAY SYSTEM This invention relates to a Flat packed
Biodegradable, Disposable / Recyclable and selfsupporting, Modular, portable display system.
Portable Display Systems variously comprising of a collapsible and or rigid structures with accompanying Poles, Clips and Panels that adapt for a wide variety of finishes. These are then used in place of or alongside rigid fixed Exhibitions/Trade shows/ in-store structures and are in common use throughout the Marketing Process. There is a specific type of collapsible portable display system which when erected affords the user the opportunity to re-use it more than once in its lifetime. The component parts are often accommodated in a container, which is fl- equently adapted to form part of the display.
Current Display Systems are however relatively expensive. More over whilst they are in use, being transported or in store, are often subject to heavy wear and tear and require varying levels of costly ongoing maintenance and are not easily recyclable or disposable.
According to the present invention there is provided the opportunity to create a low cost variable size modular displays, utilising Biodegradable inter-locking hexagonal selfsupporting structures that can either be semipermanent, re-usable or disposable, that can be adapted into multi situational use.
0 0 Fig 1 shows an individual, fully erected, Display panel, including Header.
Fig 2 illustrates the component Graphics panel, three of which make up a full panel.
Fig 3 shows, in section, how the ffimgular sections help construct the hexagonal support columns.
0 Fig 4 illustrates a single graphics panel with out its hexagonal supports, but showing the mechanics of the interlocking support system.
Fig 5 shows the interlocking 'sliders' that holds the system together.
2.
ReferTing to the drawing (fig 1) the Display System comprises of two hexagonal support columns (10) that interlock with three display panels fig 4 In order to construct either single fig 1 or multiple displays, first the hexagonal support columns (10) must be constructed. This is achieved by folding (13) and interlocking, using sliders (11), the triangular sections (13) as shown in fig 3. Then fig 4 interlocks with the two columns to produce fig 2. When two or more of fig 2 are constructed and interlocked, using (12), this then forms a Modular Display Panel then to be finished off with the Header panel (14) that interlocks with the hexagonal support columns (10).
The structure has been designed to provide maximum strength with minimal material endurance levels.

Claims (8)

  1. A Disposable Display System, compromising of modular flat packed, selfassembly support columns and display panels which when erected and secured by means of a series of interlocking 'sliders' form a single usable display unit.
  2. 2. A Disposable Display System, Claim 1, is capable of being used as an individual display or when interlocked with another or series of similar units forms; a larger display or complete exhibition stand.
  3. 3. A Disposable Display System, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the interlocking mechanics of the support columns and display panels creates a rigid structure capable of 'free-standing'.
  4. 4. A Disposable Display System as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the packaging/pack containing the system provides an additional feature of a case or reusable container.
  5. A Disposable Display System as claimed in claim 4 wherein the mechanics of the interlocking 'sliders' are colour coded so to give reference to the size and position of their location within the structure.
  6. 6. A Disposable Display System as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2 and in any preceding claims wherein the structure is supplied with at least one header panel.
  7. 7. A Disposable Displays System as claimed in any proceeding claim wherein the whole structure provides two wholly independent display surfaces for use which when reversed can be used as a screen.
  8. 8. A Disposable Display System substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-5 of the accompanying drawings.
