Abstract

A hat ornament (4) for decorating the peaks (6) of baseball style caps comprises a clip (5) formed form the limbs and body of a cartoon style character which grips the edge of the cap's peak (6) to give the appearance of the character lying, hanging or gripping the peak. The ornament (4) may be permanently attached to the peak by gluing or heat fusing, or may be detachable. The ornament (4) may be made from rigid or flexible plastics.

Description

THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A HAT ORNAMENT THIS NEW CONCEPT RELATES TO THE DECORATION OF THE PEAKS OF THE EVER POPULAR. BASEBALL STYLE CAPS. AS USED BY MANY COMPANIES FOR COMMERCIAL AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES.
THE ORNAMENT WOULD COME IN VARYING FORMS, SUCH AS CARTOON STYLE CHARACTERS, CUTE ANIMALS, SPORTING MASCOTS AND CHARACTURES. WHICH ARE ALSO USED BY MANY COMPANIES FOR COMMERCIAL AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES.
THE CONCEPT IS TO SECURE THE ORNAMENTAL CHARACTER, TO THE EDGE OF THE CAPS PEAK. GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT THE CHARACTER DEPENDING ON IT'S OVERALL CONFIGURATION APPEARS TO BE SITTING ON, LYING ON, HANGING OR CLINING ON TO THE CAPS PEAK.
THE ORNAMENT WOULD BE MOULDED IN, RIGID OR. FLEXIBLE PLASTIC OR.
RESIN. THEY WOULD BE SECURED TO THE EDGE OF THE CAP'S PEAK, BY MEANS OF A CLIP FORMED FROM PARTS OF THE CHARACTERS BODY SUCH AS THE LIMBS, WHICH WOULD GRIP THE PEAK.
BY USING THE CHARACTERS LIMBS OR OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY, WOULD SO EMPHASISE THE IMPRESSION THAT THE ORNAMENTAL CHARACTER, WAS EITHER SITTING ON, LYING ON HANGING OR GRIPPING THE BASEBALL CAPS PEAK.
THE CAP AND ORNAMENT COULD BE MANUFACTURED AND SUPPLIED AS A.
COMPLETE UNIT, WITH ORNAMENT ALREADY ATTACHED TO THE PEAK, INCORPORATING THE COLOURS AND TRADMARKS/LOGO'S OF THE COMPANY THE ORNAMENT COULD BE PERMANENTLY ATTACHED, BY MEANS OF GLUING OR FUSING WITH HEAT TO THE PEAK OF THE CAP TO FORM THE COMPLETE UNIT.
THE ORNAMENT COULD ALSO BE SUPPLIED AS A SEPERATE UNIT, SAY AS A GIVEAWAY BY A BREAKFAST CEREAL MANUFACTURER USING THEIR OWN BRAND CHARACTER'S FOR PEOPLE TO COLLECT AND CLIP TO THE PEAK OF THEIR OWN BASEBALL CAPS.
THE SPECIFIC EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS IN WHICH FIGURE 1 SHOWS SIDE VIEW OF THE ORNAMENT SEPERATE FROM THE BASEBALL CAP.

THE ORNAMENT CONSISTS OF A MOULDED CHARACTER FIG 1(1) IN PLASTIC OR RESIN, AND MOULDED IN A MANNER TO FORM A CLIP (2) BY USING THE BODY PARTS OF THE ORNAMENTAL CHARACTER.
FIG 2 SHOWS A SIDE VIEW OF THE ORNAMENT (4) PUSH ON TO THE PEAK (6) WITH THE CLIP (5) GRIPPING THE PEAK (6), AND SO SECURING THE ORNAMENT (4) TO THE CAP (7).
THE ORNAMENT IS SHOW FIG 3 IN A FRONT VIEW (8) SECURED TO THE PEAK (6) THE CONCEPT IS TO GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT THE ORNAMENTAL CHARACTER IS EITHER SITTING, LYING, OR HANGING ON TO THE PEAK.

THE CONCEPT OF SITTING, LYING, OR HANGING TO THE PEAK OF THE BASEBALL CAP. IS OBTAINED BY RETAINING THE BASIC CLIP (2) (10) (12) BUT ALTERING THE OVERALL CONFIGURATION (1) (9) (11) WHICH GIVES THE DESIRED EFFECT.

    I A HAT ORNAMENT FOR DECORATING THE PEAKS OF BASEBALL STYLE CAPS CONSISTS OF A CLIP FORMED FROM THE LIMBS AND BODY OF CARTOON STYLE CHARACTERS WHICH GRIP THE EDGE OF THE CAPS PEAK DEPENDING ON THE OUTER CONFIGURATION AROUND THE CLIP, THE CARTOON CHARACTER WOULD GIVE THE IMPRESSION OF SITTING ON LYING ON HANGING OR GRIPPING THE BASEBALL CAP'S PEAK 2 A HAT ORNAMENT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 CAN PERMANENTLY BE ATTACHED BY MEANS OF GLUING OR FUSING WITH HEAT TO THE CAP'S PEAK 3 A HAT ORNAMENT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 AND 2 IS MADE FROM RIGID OR FLEXIBLE PLASTIC OR RESIN 4 A HAT ORNAMENT SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH REFERENCE TO FIG 1 TO 5 OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
