Abstract

Equipment for loading goods into and out of a vehicle boot comprises an height adjustable platform B positioned in the boot and having tracks on its top surface, a collapsible tracked ramp C and a trolley A running on the tracks. The ramp C may be telescopic, has a hinge 7, lockable struts 6 holding the tracks apart when erected, pads 4 and is connected to the platform B by pins 5. The platform can be raised by electric, pneumatic or mechanical means e.g. via handle 3 and the trolley can be locked to it via pins 2 for transport. Preferably the trolley is wheeled and raised and lowered via ropes and a winch. The trolley may be dimensioned to fit a standard barrow truck.

Description

-I- CAR BOOT LOADEASY This invention relates to a car boot compartment
load 1 unload aid.
Car boot compartments are extremely difficult to load 1 unload due to the amount of strength required to lift loads vertically whilst leaning into the car boot compartment to overcome the boot cill.
According to the present invention an adjustable platform located within the car boot compartment suitably secured together with a trolley located within specific guides will enable loads to be trollied into and out of the car boot compartment via a track attachment to ground level and onto the working or storeage site enabling those individuals suffering with back, heart, fraility and strength problems to obtain unassisted the heavy goods, D.LY and garden essentials necessary for the current environment.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing number.. 97 136 in which:- 2331285 Figure 1 Shows in perspective the assembly located within a typical car boot compartment.
Figure 2 Shows an exploded view of the components.
Referring to the drawing the adjustable platform ( item B) is loaded into the car boot compartment and suitably aligned and secured - it is raised by means of a screwed jack mechanism and handle ( item 3) to the required height to enable the collapsable track attachment ( item C) locked on angle (item 7) and correctly spaced with spacer bars ( item 6) to be located and secured with locking pins ( item 5) and support pads ( item 4) to be resting on the boot compartment cill as figure 1. The loaded trolley attachment ( item A) having wheels, skids or guides can then be located onto the track attachment and drawn up onto the adjustable platform within the boot compartment by means of a rope winch ratchet system via towing and guide eyes ( not shown). When the trolley has been loaded onto the platform locking pins (item 2) are located into position to secure the loaded trolley when in transit. The track attachment is then removed and collapsed and the platform can be lowered if required during transit. Unloading the trolley will require the reverse sequence described above. The trolley can then be towed or sack barrowed onto the working or storing site.
