Abstract

An enclosure, to partially or fully surround the connector by which the static, movable or portable appliance obtains electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic power. The enclosure being located and secured with a padlock or other locking device to inhibit unauthorised use. One or more holes or slots being provided to accommodate the cable, hose or tubing attached to the connector supplying power to the appliance.

Description

SPECIFICATION This invention relates to an appliance lock.
Known devices are either particular to the appliance or are fitted to the receptacle into which the appliance is connected to obtain power. They are often complicated, expensive and need skill to be properly fitted.
According to the present invention there is provided an enclosure, to partially or fully surround the connector by which the static, movable or portable appliance obtains electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic power. The two or more parts of the enclosure are hinged or located together and secured with a padlock or other locking device to inhibit unauthorised use. One or more holes or slots being provided to accommodate the cable, hose or tubing attached to the connector supplying power to the appliance.
The fitting, use or removal of the device requires no skill.
The accompanying drawing Figure 1 shows by way of example, two halves of a container which are shown hinged and with entry slots for a cable. The connector of the appliance is placed within the open container, which is then closed to surround the connector and secured with, for example a padlock, so restricting the unauthorised use of the appliance.
To enable the use of the appliance the above steps are carried out in the reverse sequence.

Claims (4)

  1. CLAIMS 1. An enclosure, to partially or flilly surround the connector by which the static, movable or portable appliance obtains electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic power. The one or more parts of the enclosure are hinged or located together and secured with a padlock or other locking device to inhibit unauthorised use. One or more holes or slots being provided to accommodate the cable, hose or tubing attached to the connector supplying power to the appliance.
  2. 2. An enclosure as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the enclosure is in one piece.
  3. 3. An enclosure as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the enclosure comprises more than one piece.
  4. 4. An enclosure substantially as describes herein with reference to the accompanying drawing Sketch 1.
    CLAIMS An enclosure having not more than one aperture to accommodate the electrical cable, hose or tubing supplying power to the appliance to surround the connector and thereby prevent insertion of the connector by which the static, movable or portable appliance obtains electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic power and being an enclosure that may be secured to restrict the unauthorised use of the appliance.
    An enclosure as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the enclosure used to surround the connector is in one piece.
    An enclosure as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the enclosure used to surround the connector comprises more than one part that are hinged or located together.
    An enclosure substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawing Sketch I.
