Abstract

An electronic device which is attached to the underside of the toilet seat, this device is a electronic timing circuit, which when the seat is raised to the upright position, this is detected by the circuit and starts an approximate 30 second timing period, enough time for the toilet user to urinate. If the seat is not returned to the horizontal position within this period, an alarm sound is made, to remind the toilet user to put the seat back down.

Description

TOILET SEAT TRAINER This invention relates to a Toilet Seat Training Device.
It is an annoyance to many women, that men do not put the toilet seat back down after urinating.
According to the present invention there is provided an electronic device which is attached to the underside of the toilet seat, this device is a electronic timing circuit, which when the seat is raised to the upright position, this is detected by the circuit and starts an approximate 30 second timing period. If the seat is not returned to the horizontal position within this period, an alarm sound is made to remind the toilet user to put the seat back down.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1. Shows example position of where the Toilet Seat Trainer can be fitted The Toilet Seat Trainer is a battery operated device which is activated by the seat being put into the upright position. The way the Toilet Seat Trainer senses that the seat is no longer in the horizontal position, is by means of a common electronic component called a 'Tilt Switch".
This component is widely used in the Intruder Alarm Industry. Once the Tilt Switch is activated this starts a electronic 30 second timing period, at the end of this period an alarm is generated, to remind the toilet user to put the seat back down. The 30 second timing period has been calculated to give the person using the toilet, enough time to finish urinating before reminding them to put the seat back down, by means of an audible alarm. The Toilet Trainer is constructed, so that it is thin enough to fit between the underside of the Toilet Seat and the top of the Bowl, without being crushed between the two. The Toilet Seat trainer is attached to the underside of the Seat by an adhesive or by some other suitable means.
