Abstract

A cover arrangement for a feed unit (fig 3) of a satellite dish (preferably a low-noise-block (L. N. B.) unit) comprises one or more cover members (figs 2,4 and 5) and means of securing the cover arrangement around the said feed unit. A cover member may comprise a conical member (fig 4) with an open end 5 and may further include a cylindrical member (fig 5) with a slot 7 which is arranged to fit over the feed unit (fig 3). The cover members may be formed from clear plastic material The cover arrangement may be applied to an L. N. B. unit of a satellite dish feed system to avoid the influence of adverse weather conditions such as rain and snow.

Description

ALL WEATHER SATELLITE L.N.B COVER [Technical field] This invention relates to an all weather satellite L.N.B cover.
[Background] Satellite systems are widely used especially for personal entertainment.
However home satellite television systems are prone to interference due to adverse weather conditions such as rain or snow hitting the L.N.B. As a result of this many television channels are unwatchable.
[Technical features] The present invention comprises plastic cylindrical and conical forms, which are attached to the L.N.B of the satellite system.
[Example] A description of the invention will now be made by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing: Figure 2 shows clear plastic conical cover.
Figure 3 shows typical satellite L.N.B with lens at the front 8.
Figure 4 shows as Figure 2 clear plastic conical cover with hole at the front end 5.
Figure 5 shows cylindrical cover with mounting slot 7. The covers in Figure 4 and Figure 5 can be joined at 6 to create one larger cover.

Claims (5)

1 An all weather satellite L.N.B cover,comprising conical and cylindrical covers.The covers themselves being adapted to fit over, and protrude the L.N.B itself.
Means for securing the covers to the L.N.B support bracket. And being assembled from one or more parts.
2 An all weather satellite L.N.B cover as claimed in claim 1 ,wherein one or more parts are made from clear material.
3 An all weather satellite L.N.B cover as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2,wherein catchment means are provided for arresting movement of the covers.
4 An all weather satellite L.N.B cover as claimed in claim 3,wherein the catchment means are adapted to cooperate with the supporting means of the L.N.B.
5 An all weather satellite L.N.B cover as described herein with reference to Figures 4 and 5 of the accompanying drawings.
