Abstract

A trolley (20) includes a frame (21) including two upright tubes (211) each having an upper end portion defining a hole (216) therein, an inverted U-shaped retractable handle (23) including two legs (230) each slidably mounted in a corresponding one of the two upright tubes, and a pair of sleeves (22) each slidably mounted on a corresponding one of the two legs (230) of the handle (23) and each detachably mounted in a corresponding one of the two upright tubes (211) of the frame (21), wherein each of the two sleeves (22) includes a snap hook (223) detachably fitted in the hole (216) of an associated upright tube (211).

Description

TROLLEY WITH A KNAPSACK The present invention relates to a trolley, and more particularly to a trolley which can be used to carry a knapsack.
A conventional trolley is shown in Fig. 7 and comprises a frame 30 including two tubes 32 each having an upper end portion defining a hole 322, a U-shaped supporting stand 331 mounted between the two tubes 32, and two wheels 31 each rotatably mounted on a corresponding one of the two tubes 32.
An inverted U-shaped handle 40 includes two legs 42 each slidably mounted in a corresponding one of the tubes 32 and each defining a bore 422 therein.
Two V-shaped elastic members 46 are each mounted in a corresponding one of the legs 42 and each include a stub 462 extending through the bore 422 and the hole 322 when the bore 422 and the hole 322 align with each other.
Each of the legs 42 of the handle 40 can be retracted into the tube 32 of the frame 30 by pressing the stub 462 of each of the two elastic members 46 inwardly to be detached from the hole 322 of the tube 32, whereby the handle 40 may be folded.
By such an arrangement, however, the elastic member 46 will suffer from fatigue after long-term utilization such that the engagement between the leg 42 of the handle 40 and the tube 32 of the frame 30 easily becomes loosened.
In addition, it is necessary to press the stub 462 of each of the two elastic members 46 synchronously so as to retract each of the legs 42 of the handle 40 into each of the tubes 32 of the frame 30, thereby greatly causing an inconvenience when being in use.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantage of the conventional trolley.
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a trolley comprising a frame including two upright tubes each having an upper end portion defining a hole, an inverted U-shaped retractable handle including two legs each slidably mounted in a corresponding one of the two upright tubes, and a pair of sleeves each slidably mounted on a corresponding one of the two legs of the handle and each detachably mounted in a corresponding one of the two upright tubes of the frame, wherein each of the two sleeves includes a snap hook detachably fitted in the hole of an associated upright tube.
Further features of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a trolley assembled with a knapsack in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 2 is an exploded view of the trolley; Fig. 3 is a partially side cross-sectional view of Fig.
2; Fig. 4 is an operational view of Fig. 3; Fig. 5 is a partially enlarged view of Fig. 4; Fig. 6 is a top plan cross-sectional view of Fig. 4; and Fig. 7 is a side cross-sectional view of a conventional trolley in accordance with the prior art.
Referring now to Figs. 1-3, a trolley 20 according to the present invention can be adapted to be assembled with a knapsack 10 which can be used by a child in the school.
The trolley 20 comprises a frame 21 including two upright tubes 211 each having an upper end portion defining a hole 216 therein, an inverted U-shaped retractable handle 23 including two legs 230 each slidably mounted in a corresponding one of the two upright tubes and a handgrip 231 integrally connecting between the two legs 230, and a pair of sleeves 22 each slidably mounted on a corresponding one of the two legs 230 of the handle 23 and each detachably mounted in a corresponding one of the two upright tubes 211 of the frame 21.
The frame 21 includes a substantially inverted U-shaped connecting brace 214 fixedly mounted between the upper end portion of each of the two upright tubes 211 and includes a substantially U-shaped supporting stand 215 fixedly mounted between the lower end portion of each of the two upright tubes 211 and supported on the ground.
Two wheels 212 are each rotatably mounted on the lower end portion of a corresponding one of the two upright tubes 211.
The knapsack 10 is detachably supported on the frame 21 and includes an upper strap 12 suspended on the connecting brace 214 and a lower strap (not shown) suspended on the U shaped supporting stand 215.
Each of the two sleeves 22 has an upper end portion formed with an enlarged head 221 abutting on the upper end portion of an associated upright tube 211 and has a lower end portion 220 defining an opening 224 in a periphery thereof.
Each of the two sleeves 22 includes a snap hook 223 detachably fitted in the hole 216 of an associated upright tube 211. A substantially inverted U-shaped slit 225 is defined in a periphery of each of the two sleeves 22, thereby forming the snap hook 223.
Each of the two legs 230 of the handle 23 includes a lower end portion defining a bore 232, and two urging pins 24 each extend through the bore 232 of a corresponding one of the two legs 230 and each include an enlarged head 242 protruding outward from the bore 232.
In operation, referring to Figs. 3-6 with reference to Figs. 1-3, when each of the two legs 230 of the handle 23 are inserted into an associated upright tube 211, each of the two sleeves 22 slidably mounted on an associated leg 230 can be inserted into the upper end portion of each of the two upright tubes 211, with the snap hook 223 of the sleeve 22 being snapped into the hole 216 of the upright tube 211, thereby securing each of the sleeves 22 in the associated upright tube 211 as shown in Fig. 3.
Each of the legs 230 of the handle 23 can be pulled upwardly in the upright tube 211 until each of the two urging pins 24 reaches the lower end portion 224 of the sleeve 22 as shown in Fig. 4.
When each of the legs 230 of the handle 23 is further pulled upwardly, the enlarged head 242 of each of the urging pins 24 can be urged on an inner wall of the lower end portion 220 of the sleeve 22 as best shown in Figs. 5 and 6 so as to position the lower end portion of each of the two legs 230 in the sleeve 22, thereby fully extending the handle 23.
Each of the legs 230 can then be pushed downwardly by exerting a downward force on the handgrip 231 so as to detach the enlarged head 242 of each of the urging pins 24 from the inner wall of the lower end portion 220 of the sleeve 22 until the handgrip 231 abuts on the upper end portion of each of the two tubes 211, thereby retracting the handle 23 as shown in Fig. 3.
It should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments of the present invention may be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
