Abstract

An accessory for holding tools and the like may be hung from a ladder rung or a scaffold frame so a workman has both hands free. The accessory comprises a hook section 1, having a handle 2, and a box section 4 for storing tools. The hook section 1 is releasably connected to the box section to allow the hook section 1 to be reversed (figure 4). Reversing the hook section 1 reduces the moment of the centre of gravity acting about the point from which the accessory is hung. Preferably the accessory has locking means (figure 4) to further reduce any tendency to rotate. The accessory may also have clips 9 for releasably holding tools.

Description

TOOL, LADDER AND TOWER ACCESSORY.
Storage containers and tool boxes come readily available in many shapes and forms and for the most part are quite adequate for carrying and holding numerous products. However when the user of such containers finds himself having to work from a ladder or tower their effectiveness is greatly reduced as none have provision to support themselves and enable the operative to have both hands free to carry out his task or simply climb the ladder or tower.
The invention submitted incorporates 3 specific embodiment's itemized A,B,C A. For use on ladders and access towers.
B. For scaffold and access towers.
C. For all three The embodiment's are designed to support themselves and their contents in a safe and stable manner specifically when being used on ladders or towers, thus enabling the operative to have both hands free to go about his business. A compilation of sketches of the three embodiment's complete with descriptions are herein logged with: Figure 1. Showing general profile embodiment A and components.
Figure 2. Showing front view of embodiment A positioned on ladder rung and and secured by securing pins 3.
Figure 3. Showing side view of embodiment A with securing pins 3 in position and anti twist supports 7 resting on lower rung.
Figure 4. Showing showing general profile of embodiment B with hook 1 facing frontwards over box 4 effectively transferring centre of balance enabling the unit to hang in a vertical manner. The addition of locking accessory 8 arrests any swinging movement allowing liquids to be held safely.
Figure 5. Showing front view of embodiment B in typical work position resting on tower tube.
Figure 6. Showing side view of embodiment B detailing locking accessory 8 clamping down on tube and trapping against pins 3 (note pins maybe replaced by wire rope or similar).
Figurer 7. Showing general profile of embodiment C assembled for work on ladders.
Figure 8. Showing broken side view of embodiment C with hook 1 facing away from box 4, typical position for ladder work.
Figure 9. Showing general profile of embodiment C in working position for towers, hook 1 facing over box 4.
Figure 10. Showing broken side view of embodiment C hook 1 facing over box 4 as is typical for tower work.
Figure 11. Showing example of box 4 with typical example of item 10 separating for tools etc.
Figure 12. Showing typical profile of tool tray 10.
Figure 13. Showing inbuilt stabilizing feature 11 incorporated in tray 10.
