Abstract

A box tong consists of two clamping plates, with metal pins attached, mounted on the open end of a double scissor action metal frame. A pull handle is attached to the closed end.

Description

DESCRIPTION The box tong consists of the following components as indicatedon the drawings:1. Mild steel pull handle.
2. Stainless steel securing pins to allow easy movenent when pulled upwards.
3. Aluminium bar - nain body frame.
4. Gripping plate bolted to main body frame for pivot action.
5. slild steel pointed studs.
GENERAL The box tong is designed to pick up cardboard boxes of various sizes. The main body frame is pinned in a double scissors design with pull handle at the top. The bottom of the main frame is bent to 105 on each leg to allow the tool to clear the item to be lifted prior to, and after the lifting exercise. Pinned to the lower point of each bottom leg are gripping plates with pointed studs, welded or riveted, fixed to then.
BASIC APPLICATION 'sthen Item 1 is activated, Itens 2 and 3 pull inwards and grip the box at right angles with Items 4/5, Item 5 being the main gripping component for the tool.
Upon releasing Item 1 with a downwards push, the tool will expand and release the box.

Claims (4)

  1. BOX TONG LIFTINg TOCL 1. A box tong lifting tool for lifting and manually transporting cardboard boxes.
  2. 2. A lifting tool is claimed in Clairi 1 ere metal clamping plates with attached metal pointed pins on one side are mounted on the lifting frame.
  3. 3. A lifting tool is claimed in Claim 1 which has a metal double scissor action lifting frame with pull handle at closed end.
  4. 4. The lifting tool as claimed in any preceeding claim whereupon the upward pulling of the handle allows te clamping plates to penetrate 2 cardboard box.
