Abstract

The lavatory cleaning brush has an independent means of water supply that discharges over a quantity of soluble disinfectant to produce a cleaning solution at the brush head.

Description

SELF - CLEANING LAVATORY BRUSH.
1] This invention relates to a lavatory brush with an integral mains water & disinfectant supply . Trigger operation enables a water disinfectant mix to pass over and through the brush - head.
2] According to the present invention the lavatory brush has an integral water supply by connection to the toilet cistern supply which by trigger operation on the handle regulates a waterldisinfectant solution through and over the brush head to facilitate the cleaning process.
3] Toilet pans are conventionally cleaned using a combination of disinfecting agents, brushes and repeated flushing of the toilet cistern.
4] The self - cleaning lavatory brush uses only a minimal quantity of water and disinfectant to produce the same result.
5] The conventional method of cleaning uses both excessive quantities of water and disinfectant which is both wasteful and ultimately detrimental to the environment.
6] In areas of metered water supply this can be directly equated with water rate costs.
7] The brush uses less than a tenth of the water required for conventional cleaning.
8] The brush uses up to less than one fiftieth of the disinfectant used for conventional cleaning.
9] A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which : Figure 1 Shows the hollow brush shaft section t3].
Figure 1. Shows in section the trigger handle section l5,E,12 l.
Figure 1. Shows in section the non-return valve , connection hose and proprietary cut in stop - valve connector [1,2,11].
Referring to the drawing the unit is connected and operated as follows : 1] A connection is made to the toilet cistern water supply pipe either by introduction of an additional tee - fitting or a proprietary cut - in valve unit 11l .
2] A non return valve is connected between the valve and the hose to prevent the possibility of drawback into the water supply system and to satisfy the Local Water Utility by- laws [2].
3 ] The brush - trigger unit is connected to the hose [13].
4 ] A quantity of proprietary disinfectant block is placed into the brush shaft section and then fixed to the trigger unit [4].
5] To operate the brush , the trigger is depressed [6] , allowing a jet of water to run over the solid disinfectant [4] and produce a cleaning solution that runs over and through the brush head while in use [8,9].
6 ] When not in use the brush unit sits in a conventional lavatory brush holder.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS.
