Abstract

A clip of H - section (Fig 1) is secured to the foot of a fence panel and to the gravel board as shown in Figure 3 by fixings at one side only; this acts to prevent removal of the panel either by wind or vandals.

Description

FENCE PANEL SECURING CLIPS This invention relates to the securing and fixing of fence panels to the concrete base panels.
Fence panels are widley used as dividers or boundry fences and are becoming more and more used especially in new building plots where planting of hedgerows would be considered too expensive or time consuming. However they do have their drawbacks. It is quite common for people to fit new fence panels only to find they have been lifted & stolen overnight because they could not find a product on the market to prevent this from happening.
The other problem which frequently occurs is warping at the bottom of the panel. So much so that it practically leaves a large gap between the fence panel & concrete panel, making the panel smaller in length and more prone to windgusts blowing the panels out from between the posts.
The clip is made simply by forming a strip of metal so it forms a U shape put two of theses together & spot weld securing them together.
Drawing Fig 1 shows the clip together forming the shape required.
The holes are drilled on one side only, so as to give extra security to the owner, as the screws will be put in at the owners side of the fence to prevent unlawfill tampering.
The clip will also prevent the panel from completly blowing out of the posts as they are still firmly fixed to the base panel by the fixing screws.
Fig 2 shows the clip prior to assembly.
Fig 3 shows the clip in position on fence panel and concrete panel shown from owners side of fence.
Fig 4 shows end of panel with see through view of how clip fits & fixings used.

Claims (3)

1 1 claim that the panel clips will prevent panels being lifted from persons outside of the fence.
2. I claim that the clips will prevent the bottom of the panels from warping.
3. I claim that the clips will prevent the panel from blowing away as it is firmly secured to the base panel.
