Abstract
A golf marker 10 is releasably magnetically held by a holding means 11 on a outer surface of a garment such as a glove, belt or pullover 12. The holding means comprises an elongate wire, attached to the garment by adhesive tape (14, fig. 3). The holding means, the marker, or both may be magnetised.
Description
GOLF APPARATUS
THIS INVENTION relates to golf apparatus.
According to this invention, golf apparatus comprises marker and holding means, the marker and holding means, the marker and holding means being adapted such that the marker can be releasably magnetically held by the holding means on an outside surface of a garment worn by a golfer.
The term garment is intended to include accessories normally associated with a garment, such as a belt.
The holding means may be embedded or secured in the garment or attached to the garment.
For example, the holding means may be attached by or in an adhesive tape so that the outside surface of the tape becomes effectively outside the surface of the garment..
The garment may for example be a glove or a sweater or a hat or cap or may be an accessory such as a belt.
The holding means may be magnetic.
The holding means may be an elongate member.
The invention may be performed in various ways and one specific embodiment with possible modifications will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a front view of a sweater;
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a golf glove;
and Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a tape.
A golf marker 10, typically in the form of a flat disc, is used to mark the position of a player's ball on a green prior to lifting and replacing after e.g. cleaning of the ball.
The marker is small and may be mislaid or difficult to find and this may be a distraction to the player.
In the present case, the marker 10 is magnetically held in a convenient storage and transport position.
The marker and a holding element are both of magnetic material and one or both of them is magnetised.
In the example of Fig. 1, a holding element 11 is a ferromagnetic wire which is threaded into the material of a sweater 12 or other garment worn by the golfer and the marker 10 is releasably held thereto by magnetic attraction and may readily be removed for use and then restored to the storage position.
In Fig. 2 the wire 11 is in or on the back of a glove 13.
As shown in Fig. 3, the wire 11 can be secured on or in a piece 14 of adhesive tape which can be releasably attached as desired.
If the golfer is in the habit of wearing a hat, the wire 11 could be in or on the hat.
A player may have more than one item of clothing incorporating or associated with a wire 11.
Instead of an elongate wire, the holding element could be of other shape e.g. a disc or ring.
In general, the marker is releasably attached to an outside surface of a garment worn by the golfer so as to be in a predetermined position, as distinct from being attached to a golf trolley or a swinging device.
Claims (8)
1. Golf apparatus comprising marker and holding means, the
marker and holding means being adapted such that the marker
can be releasably magnetically held by the holding means on
an outside surface of a garment worn by a golfer.

holding means is attached by or in an adhesive tape so that
the outside surface of the tape becomes effectively the
outside surface of the garment.
4. Apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the
garment is a glove, or a sweater, or a hat, or a cap, or a
belt.
5. Apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the
holding means is magnetic.
6. Apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the
marker is magnetic.
7. Apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the
