The operation of the apparatus as constructed above according to the present invention will now be explained in detail with reference to FIGs. 1 to 3.
Referring to FIG. 1, if a program object to be televised is selected by a broadcasting station, the program producing section 1 produces a program to be telerecorded or televised live according to the selected program object.
The program editing section 2 revises and edits the program produced by the program producing section 1. The program editing section 2 also organizes the program schedules with the program schedule input section 3 whether or not the program is to be televised on the day or on a following date, and inputs the set program to the program editing section 2.
The revised and edited program and program schedules are inputted to the signal synthesizing section 4 are applied to the modulation/transmission section 5 for processing the signals of the broadcasting program and program schedule to transmit the signals as radio waves via the antenna.
The program transmitted through the above process is received by TV receivers in each household. Referring to FIG. 2, the receiving section 6 of a TV receiver receives signals received by the antenna, and selects the signals of the broadcasting program and program schedules so that the viewer can select and view a desired channel and the program schedule, respectively. If the viewer subsequently selects a mode key in the mode selection section 7 for on-screen-displaying the program schedules, the display control section 8 receives the signals of the selected program schedules, and selects the desired channel among the channels received through the receiving section 6, and the program schedules of the selected channel for the day or for subsequent date.
In particular, if the viewer has selected schedules to be televised on a certain desired date by means of the mode selection section 7, the program schedule processing section 11 in the display control section 8 processes the data on the selected program schedules, and applies the processed program schedule data to the OSD section 13. The OSD section 13 receives the data outputted by the program schedule processing section 11, and outputs the received data to the video output section 9.
Subsequently, the schedules of the selected program are on-screendisplayed on the screen of the CRT 10.
When the program schedules are on-screen-displayed on the screen of the CRT 10, the control section 12 of the display control section 8 controls the OSD section 13 so that the program schedules on-screen-displayed on the screen of the CRT 10 may not be erased.
After elapse of a predetermined period of time, the on-screendisplayed program schedule is erased and the broadcasting program is displayed on the screen of the CRT 10.
If the mode release key of the mode selection section 7 is selected while the program schedules are on-screen-displayed on the screen of the CRT 10, the program schedules are immediately erased from the screen, and the displaying mode is converted to the TV viewing mode so that the broadcasting program may be displayed on the screen of the CRT 10.
In particular, if the viewer switches on the TV receiver and selects a mode key for checking the schedules of the program to the televised on a certain desired date by means of the mode selection key 7 while viewing a broadcasting program, the program schedule processing section 11 of the display control section 8 processes signals of the program schedules received by the receiving section 6, and the OSD section 13 outputs the data of the program schedules processed by the program schedule processing section 11 so that the schedules of the program to be televised on the day or the desired date can be on-screen-displayed on the screen of the CRT 10.
Thus, if the viewer checks the program schedules on-screendisplayed on the screen of the CRT 10 and then selects the mode release key by manipulating the mode selection key 7, the program schedules on-screen-displayed on the screen disappear, and TV broadcasting signal is displayed. If the mode release key is not selected and a predetermined period of time elapses after the onscreen-display of the program schedules, the control section 12 of the display control section 8 erases the program schedules onscreen-displayed on the screen of the CRT 10 by controlling the OSD section 13 after elapse of a predetermined period of time, and redisplays the broadcasting program so that the viewer may keep viewing the programs.
As described above, the present invention enables a viewer to effectively manage program schedules by on-screen-displaying on the screen of the CRT the program schedules to be televised by a broadcasting station on a certain desired date while viewing a TV broadcasting program, thereby increasing the quality of the product.
