Abstract

A toothbrush has tufts of bristles, the bristles reducing in height towards the sides of the bristle array so that their tips define a convex brushing surface at the outermost corners of the array.

Description

TOOTHBRUSH This invention relates to toothbrushes.
A toothbrush is a well known object which comprises an elongated handle, bristle carrying head and plurality cf cleaning bristles.
A toothbrush cleans teeth, removes plaque and maintains oral hygiene in general.
The previously made toothbrushes have paid less attention to factors such as the shape of the teeth. Therefore, they have nct solved the problem of applying the toothbrush effectively to all surfaces of teeth. And, consequently they failed to reduce damage or trauma to gums in the process of tooth brushing.
Taking this into account, there is a need for a new toothbrush.
The present invention contributes to more effective cleaning of teeth, better plaque removal, reduction of gum damage and overall better quality of oral health.
It is an aim cf the invention to produce a new, efficient and user friendly toothbrush. Due to the better manoeuvrability and good contact with teeth, the invention is capable of achieving more effective cleaning while reducing teeth and gum damage.
It is an another aim of the invention to promote dental health, specially, in the most vulnerable groups of the population, for example the elderly, the ill and children.
An another aim of the invention is to produce a more sustainable toothbrush. Due to the unique characteristics of the invention, the bristle floor is expected to last long. In turn, the invention would be economical.
The present invention is a toothbrush comprising an elongated handle, bristle carrying head on the head of the said handle, multiple bunches of cleaning bristles and concave shaped outermost corners of the brush floor.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective, the invention; Figure 2 illustrates the concave shaped edge of the outermost corners of the brush floor; Figure 3 illustrates multiple bunches of cleaning bristles embedded into the bristle carrying head; Figure 4 illustrates the straight handle of toothbrush and the bristle carrying head; Figure 5 illustrates the concave shaped edge of the outermost corners of the brush floor in a large format; Figure 6 illustrates the arrangement of multiple bunches of cleaning bristles in the bristle carrying head; Figure 7 illustrates the arrangement of extra row of bunches of cleaning bristles in between outermost rows of bunches of cleaning bristles; Figure 8 illustrates an optional alternative form of handle.
Figure 9 illustrates an another optional alternative form of handle.
Referring to the drawings, the toothbrush comprises an elongated handle 1, firmly attached bristle carrying head on the head of the said handle 2 and multiple bunches of cleaning bristles 3 (Figure 1).
The bristle carrying head 2 (Figure 1) is firmly attached to the top end of handle 1. The sharp ends of the handle 1 and bristle carrying head 2 are concavely shaped 6 (Figure 3, Figure 4) and it is intended, by this, to reduce possible damage to teeth, gums and hands in the process of tooth brushing.
The cleaning bristles 3 (Figure 3) are constructed in the form of bunches of bristles which are embedded into the bristle carrying head.
The outermost cleaning bristles are constructed to decrease their height gradually towards the end of the brush floor 5 giving a concave shape 4 to the outermost corners of the brush floor (Figure 2, Figure 5). The concave shaped outermost corners of the brush floor are illustrated in a large format in Figure 5.
The elongated handle 1 is long enough to be held by hand. A straight handle 1 (Figure 4) gives the brusher extra control over tooth brushing. There can, alternatively, be other forms of handles. For example handles 7 and 8 illustrated in Figure e and Figure 9. Handle 7 has a depression between the bristle carrying head and the hand held part of the handle (Figure 8). Handle 8 has a curve between the bristle carrying head and the hand held part of the handle (Figure 9).
The bunches of cleaning bristles are embedded into the bristle carrying head 2 in the pattern of rows 9 along the bristle carrying head (Figure 6). There can be other arrangements of bunches of cleaning bristles. For example the cleaning bristles can be reinforced by introducing an extra row of bunches of bristles 10 into the bristle carrying head 2 in between the outermost rows of bunches of cleaning bristles (Figure 7).
All components of the invention can be produced by a material like plastic, synthetic fibre or similar like.
