Abstract
A demountable lever action tool with rubber lined or non slip inner curved sections. When attached to an elongated rod, tube, pipe or pole, a downward force applied to the side plate(s) (Fig 7) results in forcing the rod, tube, pipe or pole into the ground. On completion of the insertion, the tool can then be demounted from the rod, tube, pipe or pole and used again on another rod, tube, pipe or pole.
Description
Demountable Tool
This invention relates to a lever type demountable tool which can be used to assist with the insertion of elongated , rod like , tubular, pipe, or pole like objects of variable cross section into material which may be softer than the object, for example; soil / sand / lawn I mud I clay.
The tool has rubber lining or other means of providing a non slip surface e.g. crenellated, on the inner faces of the curved sections. The tool has one or more side plate(s) which provide the means by which force can be applied to the tool. The tool is attached to elongated rod, tubular, pipe or pole like objects with the rubber linings making contact with the rod , tube , pipe or pole. By the application of downward force on the side plate(s) , the grip on the rod , tube, pipe or pole increases as more force is applied by virtue of a lever action resulting in forcing the rod , tube , pipe or pole into the material it is being forced into.
Once the tool has completed the insertion of the rod, tube, pipe or pole into the material, it can then be demounted from the rod , tube , pipe or pole etc and used again on another rod, tube, pipe or pole.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which;
Figure 1 and 2 show the side views of the demountable tool.
Figure 3 shows the front view of the demountable tool.
Figure 4 shows the top view of the demountable tool
Figure 5 shows the attachment of the demountable tool onto a rod , tube, pipe or pole by placing the tool at an angle relative to the rod , tube , pipe or pole and rotating thus engaging the curved sections of the tool and securing in place.
Figure 6 shows the demountable tool attached to a rod , tube, pipe or pole.
Figure 7 shows how the demountable tool may be used for the inserting of a rod , tube, pipe or pole , for example , a sun umbrella / parasol pole, into the ground I beach by applying a downward force on the plate(s).
Figure 8 shows the demountable tool removed from a rod, tube , pipe or pole after the rod , tube , pipe or pole has been inserted into the ground I beach, to be used again to insert another rod, tube, pipe or pole.
Claims (10)
- A A lever type demountable tool which can be used to assist with the insertion of elongated pole like objects into soil I sand I lawn I mud I clay. The tool is adapted to attach to, and or, demount from a pole like object and a plate provided on the tool upon which a downward pressure is applied resulting in a lever type action of the tool intensifying the grip on the pole and in turn forces the pole into the soil /sand I lawn /mud Iclay.2 A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 1 where in the tool is provided with curved or angular sections- widest at their opening , gradually reducing towards the base , arranged to effect attachment to and demount from a pole.3 A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 2 where in the tool is provided with curved or angular sections with non slip inner surface that come into contact with a pole like object of corresponding contour providing grip.Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. A lever type demountable tool which can be used to assist with the insertion of elongated pole like objects into soillsandllawnlmudlclay, the tool being adapted to attach to, and or, demount from a pole like object and a plate provided on the tool upon which a downward pressure is applied resulting in a lever type action of the tool intensifying the grip on the pole and in turn forces the pole into the soillsandllawnlmudlclay.
- 2. A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the tool is provided with two surface adapted to engage diametric opposite sides of the pole and being spaced along the pole axis.
- 3. A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 2 wherein the surfaces are arcuate.
- 4. A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 3 wherein at least one arcuate surface is widest at its opening, gradually reducing towards the base.
- 5. A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 2 wherein a means is provided to assist retention of the pole to the tool.
- 6. A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3 or Claim 4 or Claim 5 wherein the surfaces are faced with material adapted to grip.
- 7. A lever type demountable tool as claimed in Claim 6 wherein the facing is rubber like material providing grip.
- 8. A lever type demountable tool to assist with the insertion of elongated like objects into soillsandllawnlmudlclay substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- 9. A lever type demountable tool substantially as illustrated and adapted to operate as herein described.
- 10. A lever type demountable tool to assist with insertion of elongated poles into soillsandllawnlmudlclay substantially as herein described, using the tool as claimed in any other preceding claim and using the method as hereinbefore described.
