Abstract

Motor vehicle door lock optionally having an incorporated alarm is provided with security enhancement modification eg a casing which may incorporate the vehicle anti-tamper alarm trigger function. This concept has a ' Passive ' function, as it is armed automatically once the owner locks deadlocks and arms the alarm system. The Security Modification will not interfere with any of the normal functions of the vehicle to which it is applied. The effectiveness of the factory fitted alarm will be greatly enhance. The Security Modifications will not allow any unauthorised arson to tamper, override or bypass the door locking \ dead-locking and or alarm system.

This invention relates to motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated Alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating Vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable).
Motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ systems \ unit\s \ device\s: are fitted to motor vehicles during the manufacturing stages.
These types of systems have been created to prevent unauthorised entry and thefts of motor vehicles fitted with such a mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s, example of how one variation of a system works (as in a combined lock, deadlock and alarm type configuration), upon alighting the vehicle the owner closes the vehicle door, then inserts the key into the door lock barrel and turns the key; usually 90 degrees in an anticlockwise motion, which activates the locking, deadlocking and alarm system. Should a window be broken and an attempt to open the door be made by inserting one's arm inside the vehicle; then either forcing the interior remote door handle or private lock, neither would function, thus the vehicle remains locked. in such a scenario you may assume that the alarm system should automatically be triggered off, however in general; factory fitted alarm systems are only triggered by a voltage drop e.g. opening of a door, illuminating an interior light etc., concluding; on such a vehicle all of the window glass could be broken and the alarm would not trigger. The alternative means of entry are a) to climb through the area where previously a window was in place or b) attack, override \ defeat the deadlock \ alarm activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ system\s \ units \ device\s, via the door lock barrel and or assembly areas. As a result of my research and testing, my findings are that unauthorised-authorised activation (thefts from or of vehicles) fitted with these types of equipment are common place due to flaws in the manufacturers design of these types of mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s.
According to the present invention (as per specification required for application) there is provided a security enhancement modification casing\s \ support assembly\ies, comprising of plates\s \ strap\s brace\s \ component\s of various shapes, sizes and can be made from varieties of materials; for example metals, plastics and or other materials ( not specified ) which will vary from application to application, (according to vehicle's existing specification) the anti-tamper \ alan trigger function may consist of a switch e.g. pendulum \ mercury or other types of electrical or mechanical mechanism (not specified) and if applicable. This invention provides the anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function affixed to a casing\s \ support assembly\ies, comprising of plates \ component\s to form a security enhancement modification that affixes onto the rear section\s \ area\s of the existing door skin \ door lock barrel locking \ deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism \ system which is housed inside the vehicles door shell. Once fitted the security enhancement casing\s \ support assembly\ies will remain in place and will not interfere with the normal functioning of any of the vehicles electrical or mechanical functions, however the effectiveness of the factory fitted alarm system (if applicable), will be greatly improved (according to vehicle's existing factory fitted alarm specification). The outer casing\s \ support assembly\ies can if so required be transferred from one vehicle to another.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1. I ) A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ deactivation mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable). forming a security enhancement modification. The modification can be secured together, for example by bolts, weld or similar means ( not shown ).
In order to affix the security modification assembly\ies \ casings \ plates \ components incorporating anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function outer casing\s \ assembly\ies (as \ if applicable), (as in this one variation of security modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s incorporating antitamper \ alarm trigger function ref. I ) several existing components on the motor vehicle to which the invention is applied, may or will have to be removed in order to gain access to assemble the security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plates \ components, incorporating vehicle antitamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable) to the rear of the existing factory fitted door lock barrel locking, deadlocking and incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanisms. Then can be secured together, for example by bolts, weld, bonding agents or similar means ( not shown ).
To remove the security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable) the steps above are to be carried out in reverse sequence.

Claims (6)

Claims
1.A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ system\s \ unites \ device\s: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s\ component\s, incorporating vehicle vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function ( as \ if applicable) components of various forms, shapes and sizes made from various materials (not specified) adapted for the relevant fitment (e.g. vehicle model and make) and means for securing the enhancement application\s together housed onto a device\s \ unit\s \ system\s and or to the vehicle.
2. A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ systems unit\s \ device: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plates component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable) as claimed in claim 1 wherein an outer structure\s \ assembly\ies is provided by means of casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s to enhance the security and to prevent unauthorised override \ bypass ofthe existing security system \ unit\s \ device\s.

A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ systems unit\s \ device\s: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable) as claimed in claim 2 wherein an outer brace\s \ assembly\ies is\are provided to enhance the security and to prevent unauthorised override \ bypass of the existing security system \ unites \ device\s.

A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s: security enhancement modification assemblyXies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable) as claimed in any preceding claim wherein any form of external structure\s, casing\s, component\s, plate\s, strap\s, assembly\ies and or any similar means are provided.

A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper\ alarm trigger function (as \ if applicable) as claimed in any preceding claim wherein any fonn of additional support structure\s, casing\s, component\s, plate\s, strap\s, assembly\ies and or any similar means are provided.

A motor vehicle door lock barrel locking and or deadlocking and or incorporated alarm \ central locking activation \ de-activation mechanism\s \ system\s \ unit\s \ device\s: security enhancement modification assembly\ies \ casing\s \ plate\s \ component\s, incorporating vehicle anti-tamper \ alarm trigger function (as \ ifapplicable) substantially described herein with reference to figures 1 - 3 of the accompanying drawings (as in this one variation of security modification Assembly\ies \ Casing\s \ Plate\s \ Component\s incorporating anti tamper \ alarm trigger function ref. 1)
