Abstract

A multifunctional set enables an exchange of information between users via a network or independently of any network. User input to the set is by means of keyboard sensors 1,1', a multifunction keyswitch 20, and a microphone 19. The sensors couple the user's body-field to the gate of a field-effect transistor (9, Fig 3) of the set's circuitry. The keyswitch 20 (detailed in Fig 2) includes a roller (1'), a cylinder (1), provides five rotational and one translational degrees of freedom (e.g. for control of a displayed cursor), and has a security key/lock mechanism (9', 17', 23'). The set has a loudspeaker output, and a swivelling cover 23 on to which an image is projected by an integrated diode display and optical system in adjustable support arms 18. The cover includes a dipole antenna 4. Functions of the set include storing and editing data, translation of written and/or spoken language, use as a cordless video-phone or TV remote control, accessing on-line services and voice-mail.

Description

Description: 2316203
Multifunctional Set according to the claims 1 to 4 and the figures 1 to 3. The invention refers to multifunctional sets which permit an exchange of informations between at least two persons or users, at the same time a net-independent and a systemindependent multicommunication via all the hitherto known electronical communication systems depending on persons or respectively depending on the user, but which can also be controlled online by a person or a user, which can store and edit informations electronically, whereby the language and/or pictures and/or characters or other information possibilities can be used, and which works only referring to personsito the user. Moreover, by means of the invented circuit it is possible for the first time, by simple manner using the invented multifunctional keyswitch, to exclude manipulations on this electronical system by entering and editing memos; so as to prevent the access of electronical vires securely in a simple manner and to enter informations by means of sensors. Moreover, the multifunctional set permits the simultaneous translation of written and/or spoken language because of the invented circuit therein. The telephone sets of market leading companies are already designed in such a way that they are equipped with voice and screen and enable the automatical, personal pictureilanguage application, e.g. in the voice-mail solution. These sets available on the market have electronical circuits, bus and ring in one where all the nodes in the system are permanently linked and they are designed for about 16 Mbitts. So for up to about 60,000 ACDs, a companies' communication can be established today through data communication, picture transfer and video conferences by means of hard copy printouts / through the electronical storage. Now the branch applications with one main frame can be realized. My device has particularly been designed as a help for leaming, low- priced, usable independently on any system and well suitable for up to about 160 Mbit/s. However a use with reference to persons/user is indispensable now, but that could be in the interest of data security/access security to the data in the storage. Marking of for example characters/fields on the screen happens on the invented device by moving the cursor by means of the movable multifuncional switch and the selector roll herein incorporated by invention, which can be moved with the upper part of the multifunctional key around a second axle.
Moreover, the key of the multifunctional key switch, introduced into the 2 multifunctional set can be moved/actuated as control in two axles additionally with trigger in one axle, independently of actuating the selector roll and a further rotation of the key upper part where the selector roll is incorporated.
This is new and unites in a simple manner a number of controlling possibilities in the multifunctional key switch for the multifunctional set thus enabling a completely new design of the keyboard respectively to size, ergonometry and technology of the multifunctional set against known types of keyboards in an economically convenient manner. By this, the user friendliness of the multifunctional set by itself as well as the production costs of the same are considerably optimized against the hitherto known solutions.
Although the system of a multifunctional keyswitch is published in the international notification PCT/DE 90/00828(De) and protected in the Swiss patent CH 684682 from 30-11-1994, the multifunctional switch described therein doesn't include the above mentioned characteristics of the multifunctional keyswitch for the invented multifunctional set, which contrary to that doesn't make any switching functions depending on each other, but in all functions allows to be switched/actuated and independent from other functions which can be executed by it.
For that,. the switching shaft (9') in five axles, (5 rotation movements, 1 translation movement: RRRRRT) together with the upper part of the key of the multifunctional key switch is to be actuated mechanically and/or electronical cinematorically in a very simple and secure manner. Such a diversity of axles in a multifunctional keyswitch has not been known so far.
Moreover now it is possible to select a pre-selected browser outside the multifunctional set and discounting the service rendered via this browser by an external provider, muttifunctional set -specifically as for example usual at the mobile phones, by means of that switch whilst introducing the key (23) into the multifunctional key switch lock (17) incorporated in the multifunctional set and scanning the shape of 23 on mechanical and/or electronical way. Even without a firmly installed data line / telephone line being necessary.
This is possible because a new kind of circuit is used in the multifunctional set, where the body field of the user modifies the switch current 35 (ID) at the drain of the same sensor(s) via onelseveral sensor(s) (1,1') at the gas-field effect trimmer (gas-fet) (9) and here at the gate (G).
Also the entering signals are amplified through a gas-fets established in the same 3 way and vAth such gas-fet(s) (9), electronical signals are emitted, for example on a diode display.
The keyboard (12) of the new multifunctional set consists of one version of such gas-fets parallely or serially circuited, which interact with the diodes of a diode display (18119). In the international notification with the reference number PCTIDE91100285, WO 91115256, there is described a circuit, which enables to apply middle frequency currents by actuating the sensor electrode of the device at a stimulation current device for fine currents and electrodes with sensor switching a pulse transmission by the user - in the sense of electro therapy - with low-frequent envelope curve.
The new multifunctional set, however, works in a range of 100 to 1010 Hertz (104 MHz) by using of e.g. Si-photodiodes (up to about 108 Hertz) and vacuum photocells (more than 1010 Hertz), in the range of opto-electronics, so that the capacities to be expected by the new net opologies - star, bus and ring, aimed up to 155 MbitIs, as for instance in the market leader's architecture for his terminal devices, which already today are on the Swiss market for attempt with a capacity of 8 MbitIs, for the sector "New communication platforms for the integration of language, data and picture according to DECT standard for mobile communication".
The muMncdonal set offers a powerful circuit by means of the therein used gas field effect trimmer (gas-fet), according to PCTIDE91100285, applied for telecommunication via fixed andlor mobile nets and their terminal devices, such as e.g. dual mode devices (handy plus cordless phone) with-the respective serial interfaces, as well as for television sets, with the easiest possible operation and thus very user-friendly, used for example via a telephone connection (mobile andlor net dependentlindependent) as TV remote control and remote- controlled videophone used and operated by newcomers without previous EDP instruction.
With the multifunctional set orders can now be made around the clock in one shop, for example via a connected screen, the direct banking and the voice mail and the interactive voice response (IVR).
By reasons of costs one must pay attention that the lowest-priced components will be used for the invented multifunctional set.
The screen, like in the videophones to be purchased on the market, is integrated in the multifunctional set fastly but adjustable in its optical axles X, Y, Z (18119), but projects an amplified illustration of the same via an optical system (18) onto 4 the cover (28) of the multifunctional set designed as a display.
This solution is very economic and enables together with the invented multifunctional keyswitch and the circuit (8, 9, 13, 14, 4.15, 15', 1, T) according to fig. 1, 2 and 3 of the multifunctional set and the sensors (1, 1' and 9') and the gas-fet (9), a device, which permits all the described functions like the access to data bases, interactive communication with other net users, the storage, edition of hard copies, playing and phoning by means of picture-voice-application, but also watching television in the TV net, as well as an almost simultaneous translating at the services offered by providers, via the invented multifunctional keyswitch, moreover it prevents manipulations on the net access and of the application and makes it possible to attach an accounting.
For the above-mentioned reasons, the invented multifunctional set may especially be suitable for the project "L E A R N I N G A N D E D U C A T 10 N I N E U R 0 P E'(E U L E) of the European Union, because here not only country borders are to be overcome, but also as much higher hurdles L I N G U I S T I C B 0 R D E R S - between Baden-WOrttemberg, the Lombardy, Catalunia and the Rh6ne-Alpes; here the invented translator of languages (11) integrated in the multifunctional set creates the communication between the children involved in the project - because from them such a variety of languages such as German, Italian, Spanish and French can rarely be expected by a user.
Nso the operation of the device is now so easy, that for example the parents and grandparents of the children, without EDP instructions or even E-Mail knowledges, can help their children compose and send an E-mail and that it is also possible to study at home.
Best wav of realizinq the invention:
In the version represented in fig. 1 and in fig. 2, the functions of a conventional radio telephone (handy) are connected / interconnected with the functions of a personal computer.
The basic surface of the multifunctional set (3), about hand-palm sized, with openable picture wall (23) made of transparent thermoplast, has in the multifunctional keyswitch (20) - details see in fig. 2 - a universal controlling element, with which the functions, like marking in the pictures (pictures 1, 11 and/or 1+11 (when they are covered)), by means of a picture cursor (24), controlled by the roll (T) in the cylinder (1), which both are rotable around their axle - a normally designed "mouse" as additional device thus being superfluous- and with whose movement (all at one time or each by each) alonely with thumb and forefinger for example, the cursor (24) on the cover (28) which serves as display in open swivelled state, is moved and the selected position in the picture is confirmed by pushing the key (2319) introduced into the lock (1719) into axial direction.
The circuit in the multifunctional set is designed in a way that all pulses from the keyboard (12) and from the multifunctional keyswitch (20) via the sensors (1; V; V) in cooperation with the gas field effect trimmer (gas-fet) (9) and the electronical memory (11) are stored and worked off. This is also valid for input signals as well as for output signals from the multifunctional set.
The housing (2) has in the dipole antenna (4) and the dipole connector(s) (10) an antenna similarly designed like that of a radio telephone, which requires an alignment according to the receiving point, in order to keep the power output of the multifunctional set within the limits specified by law. The input power is about Watt and 100 mA for the drain current (1[)) and the device at the usual radio frequencies.
This power however depends on the working frequency of the gas field effect trimmer (9) and can be performed much more effectively by raising the frequency up to the possible seeming limit value of 104 MHz.
When exploiting the new circuit according to fig. 3, capacities of up to about 150 Mbit/s may be realized.
How the circuit of the multifunctional set is structured:
According to fig. 3 there is a gas-filled tube (9), which is fed on a first connection (S) by a low-voltage current source (6) via a frequency generator (7) and a transformer (8), and which is connected via at least one second connection (D) to one or several antennas (4) and which is interactive with the respective devices outside the multifunctional set via a circuits' arrangement (15; 1E; 1; 1) on a third connection (G) with the electronical memory(ies) (11) and the diode screen(s) andlor the loudspeakers (18119; 19) as well as the microphone(s) with the interfaces (21; 18119; 22) of the multifunctional set, if connected; whereby a current quota coming from the transformer (8) with a frequency between 1 Oc) to 1010 Hertz in the gas channel of the gas-filled tube (9) is rectified thus the conductibility for current and potencial of the gas channel becoming influenciabie depending on the interaction on the third connection (G), whereby moreover this current quota overrules the current taken at the transformer (8) thus a current with a frequency between 100 and 1010 Hertz being available at the second connection (D) with an intensity of current up to about 100 mA and a direct 6 current quota of about up to +1- 60 V and an alternating current quota of about up to 70OV and this current QD) being controllable depending on the period of the interaction at the third connection (G).
At the multifunctional set, the connection "G" according to figure 2 is classified into the roll (V), the cylinder (1), the key (2319) and the lock (1719% whereby the key shank and the lock additionally serve, as movement transmitters of the upper part of the multifunctional keyswitch (20), as an access checklaccounting codification and are named in this circuit with "9. The switch (12), (fig. 3) and the keyboard (12), fig. 1, serve for data processing (inputloutput of electronicai signals as fundamental parts of the data") and they are operated by means of the sensor keys (1; V9) by the user's body field, without a current flowing between the sensor(s) and body of the multifunctional sets user, because such is indeed prevented by the capacitor (15% (fig.3).
The adjustable resistance (5), (fig. 2 and fig. 3) serves for tuning the device.
The picture projecting arms with the integrated diode display and the optical system (mirrors, lenses) (18) are swivelling and shifting thus admitting a picture enlargement in a wide range. The cover (28) is swivelling around two axles and shifting into itself thus contributing to the picture focusing and a representation as big as possible.
