Abstract

Shrouds 3 are fitted around the cables which connect a service unit 2 to a meter 1. The shrouds may be of high density hard plastics so that any interference can be easily recognised, and coloured to identify the cables they are covering e.g. red, yellow, black and blue.

Description

An anti-theft cable shroud with phase and neutral indicator 1. The shrouds (3) are designed to give protection to the unmetered cables that transfer the energy from the electric service unit (2) to the electric meter (1) 2. The shrouds (3) are designed so that the internal radius is marginally larger than the cables passing through them.
3. The shrouds external radius is determined by the internal radius plus the thickness of the wall.
4. The length is determined by the radial arc required by the maximum sized cable as per (4) that can be inserted into the meter.
5. The shroud (3) is made from a high density hard plastic or similar non conductive material so that any interference is easy to identify.
6. The shrouds (3)are made in a variety of colours so as to allow phase and neutral indication to be easily identified the colours being determined by the location of their application (e.g. UK red, yellow, blue, black) 7. The shrouds (3) can be used with any standard type of electric meter regardless of numbers of phases or their tariff structure as per fig. 1 or 2.

Claims
1. The anti-theft cable shrouds (3) with phase and neutral indication give an easy and simple system of physical protection of the unmetered cables that pass between item (2),the electrical service unit and item (1), the electric meter regardless of its number of phases or tariff structure.
2. The shrouds (3) give an easy and simple means of identification of the phase(s) or neutral cables by their colour coding, which is determined by the location of their application.
3. The shrouds (3) are made from a high density hard plastic or similar non conductive material so that any interference is easy to identity.
