Abstract

The electromagnet 1 for removing nails from wooden pallets is fixed inside a non-magnetic case. A conveyor 4 delivers the pallets to an extraction zone so that when the electromagnet is energised the nails are attracted towards a shield 2. On de-energisation of the electromagnet a boom 6 pushes the wood outside the case onto a conveyor belt and the nails fall via a funnel 7 into a removable drawer 8.

Description

I, DAVID EVENS as the sole inventor, do hereby declare the invention, for
itch I pray that a patent may be granted to me, and described in, by the following statement: The present invention relates to an electro-magnetic pallet stripper (EMPS) more particularly it relates to a nail extractor. This enables wooden pallets and most wood to be de-nailed without damage.
According to the present invention there will be designs added to speed up the process by which the pallets are inserted and removed.
These will be installed to the electrically powered machine. Powered rollers will take the wooden pallets into the extraction area.
boom will glide over the conveyer belt pushing the dismantled wood to the near side and a powered conveyer belt will remove the de-nailed pallet.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 a cross section of an electro-magnetic pallet stripper.
Figure 2 a design of the magnets shield.
The electro-magnetic pallet stripper consists of a non-magnetic surround, inside this case will be an electrically charged magnet that when functioning will have the reaction to extract metal from wood.
The permanent magnet will be situated above or below according to the task the machine is set to achieve Covering the surface of the magnet will be a non-magnetic shield that will enable the metal to be extracted when charged and dropped when switched off, without damaging the magnet.
With electronic eyes situated inside the case at their strategic positions the servo mchanism will control the direction of the wooden pallet.
A non-metallic conveyer belt will in part be fitted with a thin magnetic strip so as when the machine is in operation the said parts will rise or fall creating a driving force. Once this process of extracting the metal is accomplished the conveyer regains its normal position.
A slide rail will then push the de-nailed wood out side the case, onto a conveyer belt attached to the near side of the machine.
Beneath the conveyer belt will be a non-magnetic funnel collecting the extracted metals.
A serviceable removable tray will be situated at the base.
This system will be arranged so that the process will automate the magnetic field.
WHAT I CLAIM IS: An electro-magnetic pallet stripper that extracts metal from wood.
An electro-magnetic pallet stripper that has a specially designed shield that controls the discharged metals in the extraction zone.
An electro-magnatic pallet stripp=r that has automated conveyer belts a part of which rises or falls to the reaction zone.
An electro-magnetic pallet stripper that has a boom that glides over the conveyer belt this process removes the dismantled pallet over onto another conveyer.
An electro-magnetic pallet stripper substantially described with reference to the accompanying drawings as claimed in any proceeding claim wherein servo controlled means are provided for de-nailing pallets by magnetic means DAVID EVANS, 28 TENNYSON STREET, BOOTLE 120 4LF MERSEYSIDE, LANCS.(*) KEY TO FIGURE 1.

REMOVABLE DRAWER This machine will go on indefinitly and the significant advantage of the electro-magnetic pallet stripper is that practically there is no threat of serious injury with the only moving part being the horizontal lift when the machine is switched on.
