Abstract

A stick as shown in figure 1 which will assist in propelling a person on roller skates, and consisting of a tube or rod with a hand grip 2 and wrist strap 3 at one end and a rubber (or other material) block 4 at the other end.

Description

ROLLER-SKATING PROPELLING STICK DESCRIPTION This invention relates to sticks which are used to propel a person on roller skates in a similar manner to skiing.
Normal use of roller skates involves the skater in a zigzag progression over the ground; the use of a stick will propel the skater in a straight line, and produce a reduction in energy expenditure.
The propelling stick consists of a semi-nexible tube or rod with a ridged grip and wrist strap at one end and a rubber block at the other end.
An embodirnent of the invention is shown in Figure 1. A semi-flexible tube or rod 1 has an integrally or applied hand grip 2 at one end with a wrist strap 3 attached. At the other end a moulded rubber block 4 is fixed. The length and sizes of the tube or rod and attachments can be varied to suit the size of the user. The materials used can vary according to the quality required.

1. A stick which will propel a roller skater.
2. A stick as in Claim 1 with a ridged hand grip
3. A stick as in Claim 2 with a wrist strap
4. A stick as in Claim 3 with a rubber block.
