Abstract

The seed planting aid is an implement comprising of a body 11 handle 10 and a number of evenly spaced coned spikes 12. The seed planting aid when held by the handle 10 and pressed into compost/peat or soil so that the body 11 presses firmly against it will, when removed, leave behind a flat even surface with various numbers of evenly spaced holes, these holes are then used to plant seeds or seedlings in.

Description

THE SEED PLANTING AID This invention relates to an implement named the seed planting aid.
Many growers every year plant seeds, or seedlings they have grown from seeds into trays of compost/peat or soil, evenly spaced so as to enable the plant to establish itself and from roots.
However to produce evenly spaced holes in the compost/peat or soil and to compress the compost/peat or soil envenly into trays or boxes is time consuming and tedious.
According to the present invention there is provided a seed planting aid comprising of a flat body or base with a handle on one side for holding the implement and varies numbers of evenly spaced pointed coned pegs, the numbers of these pegs various dependant on what type of seed or seedling is being planted.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Fig 1 Shows in perspective the seed planting aid.
Fig 2 Illustrated how it works in conjunction with a seed tray full of compost/peat or soil.
Fig 3 Shows a cross section of a tray of compost/peat or soil before use of the seed planting aid.
Fig 4 Shows a cross section of the tray, the indentations left behind once the seed planting aid has been used, and how it is used for seeds or seedlings, and how the surface of the compost/peat or soil is flattened.
Refering to the drawing, the seed planting aid comprises a body 11 and a well secured handle 10 at the underside of the body various numbers of evenly spaced coned pegs o6 spikes ate attached 12 Fig 3 Shows a seed tray 14 full of compost/peat or soil 13 Fig 4 Shows that once the seed planting aid has been pressed firmly into this it leaves the impression of the coned spikes 12 behind and also the body 11 flattens the compost/peat on soil 13 evenly in the tray 14.
Fig 4 Also shows how the impression left behind from the seed planting aid is used for seeds 15 or seedlings 16.

Claims (2)

1. The seed planting aid comprising of a body a handle and coned spikes, means of fastening the handle to the body and coned spikes to the body.
2. The seed planting aid is claimed in claim 1, where in a type of handle is attached to a body or base with varying numbers of coned spikes attached to the body, these numbers should vary between 10 and 50 dependent on what type of plant or seed is being planted and what space each of these needs to grow.
