Abstract

The boxed shaped device for picking up pet excrement is held in one hand in the open position then it is placed over the excrement and the hand is closed, this movement closes the device and as it closed the excrement is forced up inside and at the point of closure, four flaps with self adhesive strips B seal the box shut. The box is made by folding of an initially flat blank and gluing at X, then adding the self adhesive strips. It is closed in use by folding at crease line C, Figure 2.

Description

PET EXCREMENT REMOVER.
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO THE REMOVAL OF PETS EXCREMENT WITH THE NECESSITY FOR PET OWNERS TO REXOVE EXCREMENT DEPOSITED IN PUBLIC PLACES BY THEIR PETS, THERE ARE SEVERAL XETHODS AVAILABLE AT PRESENT. THESE INVOLVE USING A FRAMEWORK WITH A BAG ON THE END, A SCOOP AND ALSO PICKING UP THE EXCREMENT WITH A BAG COVERING YOUR HAND AND THEN TURNING IT INSIDE OUT.
HOWEVER, THESE METHODS ARE SOMETIMES CUMBERSOME TC CARRY AROUND AND WREN ATTEMPTING TO SCOOP UP THE EXCREMENT, IT ROLLS FORWARDS AND CAN TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REMOVE IT.
THE PRESENT INVENTION IS A HAND HELD DEVICE CONSTRUCTED OF CARDBOARD AND GLUE. THE DEVICE IS NORMALLY OPEN AND IT HAS FOUR FLAPS, TWO AT EACH END, THESE FLAPS HAVE SELF ADHESIVE STRIPS ATTACHED WHICH SEAL THE DEVICE SHUT WHEN IT HAS BEEN CLOSED.
A SPECIFIC EXBODIXEXT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED BY WAY OF EXAXPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS IN WHICH FIGURE 1 SHOWS THE TEMPLATE OF THE INVENTION, FOLLOWED BY A PAGE OF ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS.
FIGURE 2 SHOWS IN PERSPECTIVE, THE DEVICE IN THE OPEN POSITION.
FIGURE 3 SHOWS THE DEVICE IN THE CLOSED POSITION.
FIGURE 4 SHOWS THE DEVICE IN THE HAND HELD POSITION COVERING THE EXCREMENT.
FIGURE 5 SHOWS THE DEVICE IN THE HAND HELD POSITION, NOW CLOSED. REFERRING TO THE DRAWING IN FIGURE 2, THE ASSEMBLED CARDBOARD DEVICE IS BOXED SHAPE .A, WITH FOUR FLAPS .B, TWO AT EACH END WHICH ARE IDENTICAL.
THE LINE C IS CREASED AND WHEN THE DEVICE IS HAND HELD AT POINTS D SEE FIGURES 4 & 5 AND THE HAND IS CLOSED, THE DEVICE CLOSES AND PIVOTS AT LINE C.
THE FOUR FLAPS B HAVE A SELF ADHESIVE STRIP ATTACHED ALONG THEIR LENGTH E.
TO USE THE DEVICE IT IS PLACED OVER THE EXCREMENT AND THE HAND IS CLOSED AS IN FIGURES 4 & 5, THE FLAPS MEET AND THE SELF ADHESIVE STRIPS E SEAL THE DEVICE TO PREVENT IT FRON OPENING.
THE FLAT EDGE ALONG THE LENGTH OF EACH SIDE OF THE DEVICE F ROVES THE EXCREMENT UP INSIDE THE DEVICE AS IT CLOSES.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE DEVICE FROM A SHEET OF CARDBOARD.
1.THE DRAWING IS FIRST CUT OUT AROUND THE OUTER LINES.
2.NEXT CUT ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE FOUR LINES A. AND THE TWO SHORT LINES B, HARKED IN HEAVY INK.
NEXT THE CUTOUT IS READY FOR FOLDING AND GLUING.
3.WITH THE CUTOUT LAYING FLAT IN FRONT OF YOU, FOLD THE FOUR SQUARE AREAS C TO FACE UPWARDS AT 90 DEGREES,MAKING A CREASE ALONG THE DOTTED LINE D.
4. FOLD THE TWO END SECTIONS F TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE CUTOUT CREASING THE DOTTED LINE D , THIS WILL STOP FOLDING WHEN AREA C TOUCHES MAIN AREA G.
5.FOLD THE TWO RECTANGULAR AREAS E TOWARDS THE MAIN AREA G AND APPLY PAPRR GLUE TO THE AREAS MARKED, X THIS WILL JOIN AREAS E TO C AXD THE CUTOUT WILL RESEMBLE A BOX SHAPE.
6.FOLD THE FOUR FLAPS H OUTWARDS AWAY FROX THE CENTRE OF THE CUTOUT G CREASING THE DOTTED LINE, SO THAT THEY ARE 90 DEGREES TO THE END SECTIONS F.
7.HOLD THE TWO SIDES OF THE CUTOUT AT THE FOUR POINTS C AND PUSH INWARDS, THIS WILL CAUSE THE FOUR FLAPS H TO TOUCH AND WILL MAKE A CREASE IN THE DOTTED LINE J.
8. NEXT GLUE FOUR SELF ADHESIVE STRIPS TO THE FLAPS H.
THE ASSEMBLY IS NOW COMPLETE.

CLAIMS.
1.THE BOX SHAPED DEVICE FOR PICKING UP PET EXCREMENT FROM THE GROUND, MADE TO BE HAND HELD AND TO CLOSE WHEN CLOSING THE HAND
2.THE BOX SHAPED DEVICE FOR PICKING UP PET EXCREMENT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIMED IN CLAIX 1 WHEREIN MEANS ARE PROVIDED BY USING FOUR FLAPS WITH SELF ADHESIVE STRIPS TO ALLOW THE DEVICE TO SEAL SHUT WHEN USED.
3.THE BOX SHAPED DEVICE FOR PICKING UP PET EXCREMENT AS CLIAMED IN CLAIX 1 OR 2 WHICH HAS TWO TRIANGULAR SHAPED CUTOUTS, ONE AT EACH END WHICH ALLOW THE DEVICE TO PIVOT BETWEEN THE UPPERXOST POINTS OF THE TRIANGULAR SHAPED CUTOUT, ALLOWING THE DEVICE TO CLOSE.
4.THE BOX SHAPED DEVICE FOR PICKING UP PET EXCREMENT AS CLAINED IN CLAIM 1,2 & 3 WHICH HAS A CREASE BETWEEN THE TWO UPPERMOST POINTS OF THE TRIANGULAR SHAPED CUTOUT ALONG ITS LENGTH WHICH ALLOWS THE DEVICE TO CLOSE EVENLY AND ALSO GIVES A SXALL RESISTANCE TO CLOSING.
