Abstract

A slide valve assembly is provided especially for controlling the flow of powder materials along a duct. A closure assembly (20) is releasably attached to a valve body (12) and includes a closure member (22) reciprocally moveable between opened and closed positions. A flexible membrane (44) is attached to the closure member (22) and has a portion moveable with the closure member (22) and a portion fixed in relation to the valve body. The closure member incorporates resilient means (40) so that when the closure member abuts the valve body in a closed position the resilient means (40) ensures a seal between the closure member and the valve body.
