Abstract

A bookmark clips onto the outer spine of a book and between the internal division of the pages. The elasticity of the bookmark provides sufficient tension to hold it in position regardless of whether the book is open or closed and so that it will remain in position if the material is disturbed in any way. The bookmark may be made from one or two components, component B being attached to component A by collar C.

Description

Page Marker Clip This invention relates to a page marker clip which can be securely inserted between the pages of reading material (including books,magazines, files), to mark a required position.

Bookmarks of various types mark a division between pages and are held firmly in place only whilst the reading material is closed. They easily fall out of position if the reading material is disturbed (eg. dropped or knocked out of place in a bag).

The page marker clip fits into place both along the outer spine of the reading material and between the internal division of the pages and has sufficient tension in its component parts to grip securely into position thus reliably marking the required place.

The page marker clip can be made either in one piece or as two components made from different materials to provide optimum flexibility or allow for varied decorative effects.

A specific embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings: Fig 1. Shows how the clip fits into position in the reading material.

The clip can be made in one piece of plastic, metal, or any suitably strong material with full elastic properties. See Fig 2.

The clip can be made in two pieces. See Fig 3. Component A can be made from any suitably rigid material in any decorative style. Component B can be made from any suitably strong material with full elastic properties. Component B is attached to component A by collar C.

The clip is flattened along the lateral plane between points D and E to fit neatly between the pages of the reading material. See Fig 4 and 5.

The measurement between points F and G is sufficient to allow the clip to fit between the outer spine of the book and the internal division of the pages (see Fig 1), whilst the tension in section D to E will grip the clip in place.

Claims

1. A page marker clip which fits into place both along the outer spine of the reading material (including books, magazines, files) and the internal division of the pages having sufficient elasticity in its components to grip securely into position thus reliably marking the required place.

2. A page marker clip as described in claim 1 which can be made in one piece or as two components made from different materials to provide optimum flexibility.
