Abstract

A container 1 for storing and dispensing e.g. 25 kg of potatoes or other produce has a main body with a lid 2, a bottom dispensing tray 5 and a basket (Fig 2) e.g. for vegetables that fits inside the main body at the top. Preferably the lid is removable as a whole to fill with produce and may have a hinged inner section 5 liftable to remove vegetables from the basket. The tray can have a hinged lid also.

Description

The present invention relates to a potatoe dispensing container.

More specifically a container to store and dispense 25 kilograms of potatoes, (e standard sack).

This container seeks to contain and dispense a full standard sack of potatoes and some other vegetables in a practical and tidy manner.

According to the present invention there is provided o container with space for 25 kilograms of potatoes. There is also provided a space at the top of the container for 8 basket which can hold a smaller quantity of other vegetables or fruit. The container has 8 collection tray at the base of the container. The bottom front side of the container has a hole through which potatoes fall from the bottom of the container into the collection tray. A hinged lid is provided at the top through which access can be gained to other vegetables.

In one embodiment of this invention the container will be made of plastic or other suitable materials. The lid is slightly lerger than the outer perimeter at the top of the container and has an inset hinged lid within it. A basket is provided that will fit Inside the top of the container. The top of the basket is made larger than the container and the base of the basket is smaller than the top and therefore will fit Rnd be kept inside the top of the container. The outer perimeter of the lid is larger than the largest edge of the basket and therefore will cover both. At the bottom of the front side of the container is a hole through which potatoes can fall into a collection tray provided. The collection tray may be made as a seperate item. When the lid and the basket are removed from the top of the container, a sack of potatoes can be emptied into the container. potatoes will fall through the hole at the bottom but will be retained by the walls of the collection tray. As potatoes are teken from the collection tray, more potatoes will drop into the tray, replacing the ones removed. The basket can be loaded with other items that can be accessed via the hinged lid at the top of the container.

In other embodiments of this invention, this potatoe dispensing container may be made of other materials other than plastic, and the collecting tray can be made with a lid The invention will now be described with reference to the eccompanying drawings.

i A potato dispensing container comprising of a collection tray at the base, a main housing vessel, a basket to sit within the top cf the vessel, and a main lid incorporating a hlnged iid, for the storage and dIspensation of a 25kg sack of potatos or other produce.
2 A potato dispensing container as claimed in 1, whereIn potatos or other produce in 25kg quantities, can be placed into the storage vessel at the top and recovered in the collection tray at the bottom.
3 A potato dispensing container as claimed in 1 & 2, wherein a basket is sited beneath he main lid and can be accessed via a hinged lid allowing access to other smalier quantities of produce.
4 A potato dispensing container as claimed in 1 to 3, wherein produce can be removed from the collection tray at the base of the vessel allowing more produce to replace what has been removed, thus produce placed in the top of the container becomes naturally rotated. The last produce piaced in the top will be the last to be retrieved from the collection tray at the base.
5 A potato dispensing container as claimed in 1 to , wherein produce suc as vegetables store within in the container will be dry and away from light, helping to maintain goo storage conditions.
