Abstract

A roof ladder comprising two or more sections of equal size which will fold flat onto one another and open out with each section moving on an arc of 270{ about an axis of the hinged connection, so that when fully opened the ladder will adjust to the contour of a roof with different pitch angles.

Description

THE INVENTION relates to a hinged roof ladder Roof ladders are well known as are the wheel and hook mechanism used to secure the ladder to the roof ridge.
This is a special type of roof ladder in which the ladder is sectional, either two or three sections. Each section joined to the next section by a pivotal hinge. This hinge allows each section: (i) Fold flat onto one section (ii) Pivot in an arc of 2700 about an axis of the hinge.
FIG ONE: illustrates the movement of a two section ladder.
FIG TWO: shows the ladders moving arc.
FIG THREE: shows the ladder closed for storage/transportation.
Referring to the drawing, the ladder sonsists of two or more sections of equal length. The sections are connected by a hinge (FIG ONE) that will allow the sections to fold flat onto each other and pivot about an axis of the hinge in a arc of 2700 (FIG TWO).

Claims (3)

1) A hinged roof ladder comprising two or more sections of equal size, connected by a pivotal hinge allowing 2700 movement about an axis.
2) A hinged roof ladder as in claim 1 wherein pivotal hinge means any hinge previously PATENTED which will allow 2700 movement in this context.
3) A hinged roof ladder as in claim 1 and claim 2 wherein the axis of movement is the pivotal hinge.
