Abstract

The window comprises a primary inward opening sash, to allow the outside of the window to be cleaned from the inside of the building, and, into the primary sash, a secondary sash which opens outward to give ventilation is inset. The double opening window can be operated as a standard casement window when the primary sash is in the closed position facilitating ease of use and safety of operation. During day to day use of the window the primary sash can remain locked in the closed position, as ventilation can be achieved by means of opening the secondary sash. Key holders can open the primary sash, which incorporates the secondary sash within it, to clean the outside of the window, safely from the inside of the building.

Description

DOUBLE OPENING WINDOW This invention relates to a double opening window.
Windows are used for ventilation and allowing light into a building. In recent years, for windows above ground level, many types of windows have been developed to incorporate a way of cleaning the outside of the window, easily and safely from the inside of the building.
Many of the windows developed are expensive to manufacture, difficult and sometimes dangerous to operate.
According to the present invention there is provided a double opening window, using standard window sections, which can be easily manufactured, operated safely and allows for the cleaning of the outside of the window from the inside of the building.
The window utilises a primary inward opening sash, to allow the outside of the window to be cleaned from the inside of the building. Inset into the primary sash a secondary sash which opens outward to give ventilation.
A description of the invention will now be given by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing in which; Figure 1, shows in perspective, the primary sash and secondary sash in the open positions.
Figure 2, shows the primary sash closed and the secondary sash open for ventilation.
Figure 3, shows both sashes in the closed position.
Figure 4, shows the primary sash opening inwards, with the secondary sash in the closed position, facilitating cleaning of the outside of the window from within the building.

Claims (3)
