Abstract

A pen set and eraser holder 3 is secured to or integral with a sliding mechanism 2 which is releasably mounted on a rail 1. The rail can either be fastened to a wall using brackets 6, or fastened to a free standing writing board, Fig 4. The sliding mechanism 2 has wheels or rollers to aid sliding. The holder 3 can be tilted forward on the sliding mechanism 2, and it can also be interchanged for an alternative holder.

Description

'Pen Set & Eraser' Holder This invention relates to a sliding- 'Pen Set 8 Eraser Holder for white boards and blackboards.

Pen holders are commonly renown as the desk top variety. They sit on a desk top and hold various utilities such as pens, rulers, staples. Then there is the pen holder which is for use with dry wipe marker boards (white boards). The white boards which I refer to are white, rectangular and wall mounted. They come in various sizes, and lengths such as 1 220mm and 1 829mm upwards. and are used for teaching and presentation purposes.

Here i have come across only 2 types of Pen Set & Eraser holder. Type A. is normally a long slim rectangle tray which clips on to the base of the White Boardthe pens are then laid out along it. Type B, is a small shallow rectangle plastic box which holds up to six pens which do not stand on their ends vertically but lay flat along their sides horizontally one underneath each other. The box has cigar shaped half circle indents so the pens can clip into it vertically forming a column of pens. This type is normally affixed to one of the top or bottom corners of the White Board by means of double sided sticky tape provided.

The pen holders type A and B described above are the exception. That isgenerally most White Boards and Black Boards are soid without any means of a utility to hold pens and accessories. In the majority of ccses the end result is that those who use them (White Boards and Black Boards) clutch a handful of pens /chalks as they work or place them (pens/chalks) on a near by desk. I have experienced myself and witnessed much time and concentration lost due to searching for a relevant colour pen /chalks or something to wipe the board with.

According to the present invention there is provided a Pen Set & Eraser holder, a sliding mechanism, means for reieasably securing the Pen Set & Eraser holder to the sliding mechanism. A rail system and means to releasably secure the sliding mechanism to the rail system, and means to secure the rail system to rhe wall.

There is also an option provided to releasably secure the rail to a free standing White or Black Board by using brackets. and means to tilt/rotate the Pen Set & BR< Eraser holder forward.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by wo of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective the Pen Set & Eraser holder in position on a rail system positioned beneath a White Board or Black Board; Figure 2 shows the rail and the sliding mechanism; Figure 3 shows the rail sliding mechanism and Pen Set & Eraser holde@n position: Figure 4 shows the rail fastened to a free standing White Board or Bloc Board.

The board is tilted back slightly to make it easier to write and accordini the Pen Set 8 Eraser holder is shown tilted forward to offset the angle.

Figure 5 shows the Pen Set 8 Eraser holder tilted forward.

Referring to the drawing the Pen Set & Eraser holder 3 is releasably secured to the sliding mechanism 2 which can glide easily in the direction of the arrows 4 or 5.

The rail 1 -Fig 2, is secured to the wall by means of brackets 6. The roil also has a different set of brackets which enable it to be releasably secured to a free standing White or Black Board -Fig 4- by means of a Screwed Fastener, Clip On, Catch or other means (not shown).

The sliding mechanism 2 as shown in Fig 2 is able to glide smoothly and easily in either direction of the rail by means of wheels (not shownj.

The Pen Set & Eraser holder 3 is reieasably secured to the sliding mechanism 2 so that a replacement or different model Pen Set 8 Eraser holder can be attached.

The Pen Set 8 < Eraser holder 3 can be tilted forward as shown in figure 5

Claims

Claims 1. A Pen Set & Eraser holder, a sliding mechanism, means for releasably securing the Pen Set 8 Eraser holder to the sliding mechanism. A rail system and means to releasably secure the sliding mechanism to the rail system, and means to secure the rail system to the wall. There is also an option provided to releasably secure the rail to a free standing White or Black Board by using brackets, and means to tilt/rotate the Pen Set & Eraser holder forward
2. A Pen Set & Eraser holder as claimed in claim 1 wherein there is means to make it reieasably secured to a sliding mechanism or by making the sliding mechanism part of its (Pen Set & Eraser holder) body.
3. A Pen Set & Eraser holder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the use of wheels or rollers are employed to enable the sliding mechanism to function.
4 A Pen Set 8 Eraser holder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 3 wherein a rail system is provided and secured to the wall with brackets to enable the Pen Set & traser holder to glide easily in either direction of the radii, and vvelerebk extra rail lengths car be joined together to form different length rail systems.
5. A Pen Set & Eraser holder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 3 or claim 4 wherein the sliding mechanism is made secured or releasably secured to the rail system.
6. A Pen Set & Eraser holder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 or cicim 3 or claim 4 or claim 5 wherein the Pen Set & Eraser holder can be made to hold Pens Dry Wipe Board Eraser, Chalk(s), Cloth(s) and Magnetic Board Accessories, Chaik Board Eraser(s).
7. A Pen Set & Eraser holder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 6 wherein the main body (Pen Set & Eraser holder) has the ability to tilt forward, and wherein a set of brackets can be employed enabling it ( Pen Set & Eraser Holder) to be releasably secured to a free standing white 1 black board.
