Abstract
A sewage heat treatment plant is described wherein the flow of sewage to the heating process is subject to control in a control chamber.
Description
TEESIS OF SEWAIZE EkAT TXEA2XENT PLANT REF. FJM/IIIC/94/2 The plant is connected to any main sewer run, and treats sewage with combustible heat. This is a new Principle, in as much as this is the only aid neocessary and no chemical or bacteria treatment is required. The system can deal with heat flashbacks set off by liquid or gas combustible elements within the sewage system. The workings are described as follows, all descriptions and methods to be used in accordance with gen.ass'y. plan Ref FJM4XIC/94.
The flow from any sewage run enters into a component titled a 'split level water sump'. Here any matter is liquidized and discharged back into the f/run. The flo flow enters the inlet of the 'main control chamber' wnich has one function, to control the volume of water entering into it. The means of entering and release of the water flow relies on two gates, the function so designed that they work transversley to each other. These 'gates' are. work by a single electric drive unit, the speed of which is controlled by electronic sensors. These sensors will allow a volume of water of approx. ).75 cubic metres through the inlet and discharge same through the outlet, the small equation here is outlet = inlet (volume)
After leaving the control chamber the flow will for its way down the 'water level reducer' and will eventually operate another electronic sensor which will start the heating process. The heat will remain on for some 4 - 5 seconds and then turn off. Any combustible liquids would have burnt themselves out and there will be no danger through a heat flashback due to the distance between the heating area and the main control chamber. This process is repeated continously.
It is noted that oil fired boilers may be used as well as gas.
This system is very quick regarding treatment and the construction cost is minimal compared to that of a new sewage 'farm'.
Claims (1)
- CM.A treatment sewage plant consisting of a water differential unit, the purpose of which is to keep the workings of the plant as near as the top of the site as possible.A treatment sewage plant incooperating the use of a water control, displacement chamber. This chamber allows the water to enter and leave the chamber in small quantities. This is achieved by a single gate controlled by a drive unit. This unit is wired to a electrical timing device that allows the gate to remain shut for appro. 5 seconds then open for a period of 3 seconds. This action allows small volumes of the flow to leave the chamber intermittantly, vis:- in cycles.A treatment sewage plant incooperating the use of a water leveller run. This unit allows the depth of the water and sewage contained therein to be of such a low depth, approx. 50mm, that every square c.m. can be treated by heat when entering the 'heat interceptor chamber'. The principle of this unit is that it allows the matter to be treated over a large area to reduce the depth.A treatment sewage plant comprising of a heat interceptor chamber. This chamber has a row of heating tubes contained therein. The e purpose of these tubes is to treat the surface of the water which enters the chamber by means of intensive heat. The heating fuel may be either gas or oil. The firing will only occur when sewage matter is actually within the confinements of this chamber, when there is no matter the heat is reduced to a very 'low burn'. This action is achieved by electronic 'sensors' to detect the incoming flow. The 'bunds' within the heating chamber serves two purposes, the first being to ensure that all matter is treated by heat, and the second to trap any solid matter and to retain it until it has been incinerated. With the treated water and sewage segregated from the water control displacement chamber it can be seen that this arrangement prevents any heat flashback from any liquid fuel that may find its way into the main system and possibly causing a great deal of damage if the quantity is substancial. This is one of the purposes that this chamber was designed for.The profile of the plant may be seen on the Abstract page.
