Abstract
A golfing aid includes a base (11) on which a golfer stands, a toe board (12) to ensure correct positioning of the golfers feet, an area of matting (17) on which the golf ball is placed, and a swing board (13) for guiding the head of a golf club. An extended swing line (14) may be directed towards a target (15).
Description
THE IN LINE SWING GUIDE
This invention relates to a golfing aid.
Golfing aids are such that they set out to improve the quality of the golfer's game.
This particular aid is designed to improve the straightness of the swing and hence the accuracy of the player. Either right or left handed.
According to the present invention there is provided a base, an extension swing line to be affixed to a target, a swing line correction board, an area on which to place a mat from which the ball may be struck, a toe line, fixings for the swing line to be affixed either for a left or right handed player.
Reference is now made to figures 1 & 2 where:
Fig 1 depicts golfing aid with the swing line extended.
Fig 2 depicts the golfing aid and the construction there-of.
The golfing aid 10 consists essentially of a base-board 11 of suitable material upon which are mounted a toe board 12 and swing-board 13. A swing line 14 may be extended to a target 15 by attachment to one of a plurality of eye screws 16 integral to the swing- board 13. The toe-board 12 is fixedly attached to the base board 11 covering its full width and is of such a size that it will prevent the golfer's feet being placed closer to the swing-board 13 than is intended. The swing-board 13 is attached base-board 11 and is of a height to readily guide the passage of a golf club when being swung approximately parallel to it. The are of the base-board furthest from the golfer 17 can be covered with matting or other fabric to prevent possible damage to either the board or the golf club.
The golfing aid can be used either as a whole or in part. Either inside or outside, with or without a ball, with or without a target, with or without the extension swing line. Depending on the amount of available room at the time of practise.
Available room is defined as enough room to use a putter, or swing a club.
By its design, with the incorporation of the swing line, which, when run from the far side of the swing line board, then affixed to a target, the base turned until the swing line comes into contact with the length of the swing line board, it will auto automatically bring the players shoulders and feet into line with the target. Whilst at the same time correcting the tendency of the out to in, or in to out swing.
It is designed to be used with the choice of clubs that the player himself deems to use, in connection with the aid, to improve which, or all parts of his game that he thinks necessary.
Storage. It may be left as a whole, or folded in such a way that it takes up less room.
