Abstract

A roof hip ladder is an arched frame which connects together in sections and seats over the hip of the roof and hooks over the ridge to secure by means of a hook and a swivel T anchor bar. The ladder provides easy and safe access to carry out work to the hip tiles on roofs with various pitches and lengths.

Description

ROOF HIP LADDER This invetion relates to a roof hip ladder There are at present straight roof hook ladders that enable access to the main ridge of roofs to carry out various repairs etc.
These ladders however probably limit access to hip tiles because the fixed hook can onlg be used safely at 90 degrees to the main ridge.
The roof hip ladder consists of an arched frame which connects together in several sections and seats over the hip of roof and hooks over the top of ridge using a swivel T anchor bar.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with references to the accompanying drawings.
Fig 1. Shows the main hook section.
Fig 2. Shows separation of hook and swivel T anchor bat.
Fig 3. Shows how seperate sections connect to main hook.
Fig 3A.Shows the cross section of connection points.
Fig 4. Shows the hip ladder in position on roof.
Refering to drawings, the roof hip ladder comprises of the main hook section 1 and seperate sections ( For the purpose of drawings only 2 seperate sections are shown ) 6 and 7 which connect to each other using connection brackets 8.
The main hook section 1 fits at the top of roof hip and hooks over the ridge as shown in fig 4, and anchors to the roof with the hook 2 and swivel T anchor bar 4.
The swivel T anchor bar 4 and hook 2 are connected to the main hook section 1 using safety bolts 5 at hook connection points 3

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A roof hip ladder comprises of an arched frame which connects together in sections and seats over the hip of roof and hooks over the ridge in position.
    2. A roof hip ladder as claimed in claim 1 consists of the main hook section which is the top section of the roof hip ladder as claimed in claim 1.
    3. The main hook section as claimed in claim 2 has a hook which bolts to the main hook section as claimed in claim 2 and hooks over the ridge of the roof ;. The hook as claimed in claim 3 is connected to a swi-el T anchor bai which which addapts to the profile of the roof to anchor the main hook section as claimed in 2 into position.
    5. The other sections comprise of an arched frame the sane profile as the main hook section which connect to the main hook section as claimed in claim 2 and to each other, several of the sections can be used depending on the length of roof hips.
    6. A roof @ip ladder substantially as described herein with references to figures 1 - 4 of the accompanying drawing.
