Bottles, washing. - In machines wherein the bottles are supported on a horizontal intermittently rotating table, the intermittent drive is imparted by a continuously rotating cam-disc 16 having a combined spiral and circular cam-groove 15 adapted to engage in succession with each of a number of equally-spaced studs 14 extending radially from the circumference of the table. When a stud is engaged by the circular part of the groove 15 the table is held stationary while the bottles are sprayed, and when the stud passes into the spiral portion the table is moved forward one step until it is stopped by the next pin 14 engaging the circular part of the groove. The cam-disc 16 rotates in a plane at rightangles to the plane of the table and approaches most nearly to the table at a point between the ends of the groove, so that pins 14<a>, 14<b> following the pin which is engaged in the groove do not foul the groove.
