Abstract

230,119. Lithgow, J. May 22, 1924. Rollers.-A roller for use in a machine for dyeing, bleaching, &c. comprises a cylinder 3 of Portland cement and granite chippings, spun in a rotating mould or shell to form a cylinder against the inner wall of the mould which is stripped off when the roller has solidified, the roller being protected from damage by end shocks by mounting it on end plates 2 which are held on a spindle 1 and are separated from the cylinder by rubber or other resilient washers 4. The cylinder may be reinforced with wires, slats, or wire netting.
