Abstract
A punch device has sprocket punches 1 arranged around a metal ring 2 which cooperate with a series of dies 4 in a die ring 6. The sprocket punches 1 are held in place by means of grub screws 3 and have two usable ends to anable them to be reversible. A paper web 5 passes between punches and dies to enable holes to be punched along its length.
Description
REVERSIBLE PUNCH.
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A REVERSIBLE
SPROCKET PUNCH.
SPROCKET PUNCHES ARE SMALL, WELL KNOWN
PARTS FOR MAKING HOLES IN CONTINUOUS
COMPUTER PAPER, AND ARE OF A SHAPED
SOLID METAL CONSTRUCTION, WITH NO
MOVING PARTS, FIXED IN A ROTATING METAL
RING BY MEANS OF GRUB SCREWS, AND NEED
A SEPARATE CUTTING DIE, SET IN A SEPARATE
METAL RING TO PERFORM IT'S FUNCTION.
PUNCHES CURRENTLY IN USE CAN ONLY BE USED
ONCE AND ARE THROW AWAY CONSUMABLES
WHEN THEY CEASE TO CUT PROPERLY.
THIS PRESENT INVENTION IS A SPROCKET PUNCH
WITH SIMILARLY SHAPED ENDS THAT CAN BE USED
TWICE BY USING BOTH ENDS.
THE SPECIFIC EMBODIMENT OF THIS
INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED
USING REFERENCE TO A DRAWING
Figure 1. GIVES THE OUTLINE SHAPE OF
THE REVERSIBLE SPROCKET PUNCH.
Figure 2. SHOWS HOW THE PUNCH IS SECURED.
Figure 3, GIVES A SCHEMATIC SIDE VIEW
OF A SECTION OF SPROCKET RINGS.
Claims (1)
- CLAIMS.CLAIM 1 THAT THIS INVENTION IS A TWO HEADED SPROCKET PUNCH. COMPRISING OF A SOLID SHAPED METAL CONSTRUCTION WITH SIMILAR ENDS THAT CAN BE USED EITHER WAY UP.CLAIM 2 THAT EACH SPROCKET PUNCH CAN BE USED TWICE BY USING THE SECOND HEAD WHEN THE FIRST HEAD THAT IS USED NO LONGER CUTS PROPERLY.
