MULTI-STAGE GAS REGULATOR WITH A SINGLE NOZZLE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention concerns a multi-stage gas regulator, particularly one having only a single nozzle to produce a maternal and a main flame.
A multi-stage gas regulator shown in Fig. 7 comprises a regulator body 1 having four holes, the first one of the four holes connected with a gas inlet tube 11, the second one combined with a maternal nozzle 2, the third one combined with a main nozzle 3, the fourth one connected with a control member 4, the control member 4 having a shaft 42 provided with two annular grooves 44, the annular grooves 44 respectvely having different depth, two valve rod 23, 33 of the maternal and the main nozzle 2, 3 respectively contacting with the bottoms of the annular grooves 44 to be pushed to move up and down when the shaft 42 is rotated, two valve blocks 22, 32 provided under the two valve rods 23, 33 and elastically urged by two coil springs 21, 31 in the maternal and the main nozzle 2, 3, the second and the third holes of the regulator body 1 being opened or closed by the valve blocks 22, 32 of the two nozzles 2 and 3 in various degrees so as to alter the volume of gas flowing through the two nozzles respectively.
However, its structure is a little complicated.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of this invention is to provide another multi-stage gas regulator, but only with a single nozzle for producing a maternal flame and a main flame.
A multi-stage gas regulator with a single nozzle in the present invention comprises a regulator body having three passageways, a control member connected with the first one of the passageways, a gas inlet tube connected with the second one of the passageways, a nozzle connected with the third one of the passageways. A rotatable cylindrical shaft is combined in the control member, connected with a rod fixed with a butterfly button so that the rotatable cylindrical shaft may be rotated by the butterfly button. The rotatable cylindrical shaft also has a gas inlet slot always communicating with the gas inlet tube, more than two lateral holes of different size, and one of the lateral holes may be selected to communicate with a central hole of a valve by rotation of the shaft for different angles so that gas of different volume may flow out to the nozzle, or all of the lateral may be made not to communicate with the center hole of the valve for stopping gas completely.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION A multi-stage gas regulator with a single nozzle in the present invention, as shown in Fig. 1, comprises a regulator body 1 having three gas passageways, a control member 2 and a cylindrical rotatable shaft 3 combined together.
The first passageway of the regulator body 1 is connected with a gas inlet tube 11 for gas to enter the regulator body 1. The second passageway of the regulator body 1 is combined with the control member 2, and the third passageway is connected with a nozzle 12. A valve 15 is provided to fit in the third passageway 13, with a female thread 14 provided in an outer end of the passageway 13, and with a stopper 16 provided to seal the opening of the passageway 13. The valve 15 is made of rubber or the like, having a center hole 151 communicating with a slot 161 of the stopper 16 for flammable gas to flow through to reach the nozzle 12 and a curved inner end surface to fit on a part of the outer surface of the cylindrical rotatable shaft 3.The stopper 16 engages with the female thread 14 of the third passageway 13, having a leak-stop ring 162 around its head to prevent gas leakage, and the flow groove 161 extending from the bottom to the intermediate portion in the outer surface.
The control member 2 has a rod 22 extending to a right side and connected with a butterfly button 21 to manually rotate the rod 22.
The cylindrical rotatable shaft 3 is combined with the control member 2, with its right end connected with the rod 22 of the control member 2 so that the butterfly button 21 can rotate the rod 22 and the shaft 3 at the same time. The shaft 3 has an anti-leak ring 31, able to rotate at a definite position inside the control member 2 and the regulator body 1, without possibility of gas leakage. The rotatable shaft 3 also has a gas inlet slot 32 and a plurality of lateral holes 33, 34, 35 etc. of different size provided near a left end as shown in Figs.
3, 4, 5 and 6 for flammable gas to enter through the slot 32 and then through one of the lateral holes 33, 34, 35 in different volume, and one of them will communicate with the center hole 151 of the valve 15 by different angle of rotation of the shaft 3. When the shaft 3 is being rotated, two abutting lateral holes of them communicate with the center hole 151 of the valve 15 so that gas supply may never be interrupted.
Next, Figs. 2 and 3 show this gas regulator in assembled condition with the shaft 3 at a certain definite position, and flammable gas flows through the inlet tube 11 at first, then passed through the gas inlet slot 32 and the inner hollow of the rotatable shaft 3, with the lateral holes 33, 34, 35, all not communicating with the center hole 151 of the valve 15 and subsequently with gas being blocked, unable to reach the nozzle 12.
Referring to Figs. 4, 5 and 6, the rotatable shaft 3 is rotated for a certain definite angle to permit the flammable gas to flow through the inlet groove 32 and selectably through one of the through holes 33, 34, 35 communicating with the center hole 151 of the valve 15 so that a small, a medium or a large volume of flammable gas may selectably flow through the center hole 151, the flow groove 161 of the stopper 16 and the nozzle 12 to be burned up.
