Abstract

Luminous wire netting is made by spraying the netting with a base coat of acrylic, cellulose, oil-based or flourescent paint, then with a lacquer and then while the lacquer is still wet with dry flakes of PVA. A second coat of lacquer may be applied when the netting is dry. The netting may be formed into a three-dimensional shape prior to spraying. It may be used e.g. for signs in cinemas, theatres or the like since it glows under U.V. light.

Description

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION Title: ILUMINOUS WIRE NETTING.
Galvanized wire netting in gauges for 1/2" to 1" formed or not, to make mobiles, space designs and three dimensional sculptures. When formed the sculptures are spray painted in appropriate colours with either Acrylic, cellulose, oil based or U/V flourescent reflecting paint to give a base coat. The formed wire netting is then sprayed with a plastic lager, then immediately sprayed with dry P.V.A. u/v flakes while laquer is still wet.
When dry the formed wire netting is then sprayed with a second laquer coat to bond flakes to the net.
The finished product, used in conjunction with ultra violet light (Black light) will glow and the product can then be hung from ceilings, fixed to walls or just wrapped around light rigs to enhance atmosphere or inform customers in Discos, Nightclubs, Theatres, Cinemas or any such venue where a low light atmosphere is essential by forming informative 3D signs.

Claims (4)

CLAIMS.
1. luminous wire netting comprising galvanized wire netting in gauges from 1/2" to 1", Acrylic, Cellulose, Oil based or Ultra Violet reflecting paint, dry P.V.k Ultra Violet reflective flakes and plastic laquer.
2. Luminous wire netting as claimed in claim one formed into a sculpture or not, sprayed with paint to give a base coat.
3. Illuminous wire netting as claimed in claim one and two, sprayed with plastic laquer and Ultra Violet P.V.A. dry flakes consequatively.
4. Illuminous wire netting as claimed in claim one, two and three sprayed with laquer and in so doing bonding flakes to wire netting.
