Abstract
The visor comprises a first part 11 and a second part 12 carried on the first part 11 by mounting means 13, 14 whereby the second part 12 can move downwardly and sideways relative to the first part 11 of the visor. The second part is preferably a coloured transparent sheet which moves into an operative position protruding downwardly and sideways of the first part of the visor. The sheet can be moved into the operative position manually by pulling the sheet itself, by actuating a lever or by means of an electric motor. (Fig 5.)
Description
ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR FOR ANY VEHICLE ( 'C'GOOD )
This invention relates to a ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR FOR
ANY VEHICLE.
Normal standard sun visors found in vehicles are made so you can stop the glare of the sun or head lights from impairing your vision, by lowering the standard visor so you can just see the road ahead from under it.
Standard sun visors at present cover 75% of the area os e windscreen when a light, dazzle or glare is hitting your eyes from the sun or headlights. when the dazzle is beiow or to the side of the standard visor you are blinded for 2 time.
According to the present invention there is provided ari
ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR sheet that is hidden out of view, slides across a standard visor (non see through) both sideways and downwards so ou can see the road ahead when you get dazzled by the sun in the daytime nd headlight beams at night.
It can be operated through three different means. These are referred to as versions.
VERSION 1- MANUAL PULL TAB.
VERSION 2- MANUAL SLIDING RATCHET.
VERSION 3- ELECTRICAL PUSH SWITCH BUTTON.
In all versions the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGi VISOR sheet appears beiow left or below right of the standard visor.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which :
Fig 1 Shows in perspective the standard sun visor non see through.
Fig 2 Illustrates the position of the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH
VISOR sheet fixed on the non see through visor, and the directions it can move.
Fig 3 Shows the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR sheet moved to one of the required position.
Fig 4 Shows the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR sheet fizzed on one side of the standard visor or be sandwiched in between two standard visors non see through.
Fig 5 VERSION 1 Shows the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR with the manual pull tab method. Shows exploded view of the standard visor with the working parts of the anti-glare visor.
Fig 6 VERSION 1 Shows front view of the standard visor with the anti-glare visor in the closed position.
Fig 7 VERSION 1 Illustrates the front view cf the standard visor with the anti-glare visor in one of the opening positions.
Fig 8 VERSION 2 Shows the ANTI-GLARE SE'- T?ROUGH VISOR with the manual sliding ratchet method. Shows exploded view of the standard visor with the working parts of the anti-glace visor.
Fig 9 VERSION 2 Shows front view of the standard visor T.th the anti-glare visor in the closed position.
Fig 10 VERSION 2 Illustrates the front view of the standard visor with the anti-glare visor in one of tlie opening positions.
Fig 11 VERSION 3 Shows the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR with the electrical push switch button method. Shows exploded view of the standard visor with the working parts of the anti-glare visor.
Fig 12 VERSION 3 Shows front view of the standard visor with the anti-glare visor in the closed position.
Fig 13 VERSION 3 Illustrates the front view of the standard visor with the anti-glare visor in one of the opening positions.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1 shows the standard sun visor 11. Drawing Fig 2 shows the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR sheet 12. shaped oblong, round. square or similar is secured to the standard sun visor 11 by bolt, rivet, scree, glue or similar means not shown.
The mechanism for activating the ANTI-GTARE SEE THROUGH VISOR sheet can be through 3 versions.
Version 1 MANUAL PULL TAB.
ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR comprising a standard sun visor 11 in which is housed a moveable sheet 12 and means of moving this sheet with gearwheels 14 or pulley gear and bands held within the standard visor 11.
gearwheels 14 are fitted to a large arm washer 13 which turns and moves the ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR sheet 12. A locking unit 22 is provided wiThin the gearwheels 1 mechanism to prevent movement of the anti-glare sheet i' outside the standard visor '1. A pull tab 21 is provided to pull or push the anti-glare sheet 12 to te desired position.
Version 2 MANUAL SLIDING RATCHET.
ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR comprising a standard sun visor il in which is housed a moveable anti-glare sheet 12 and means of moving this sheet with gearwheels 14 or pulley clear and bands held within the standard visor í i Gearwheels 14 are fitted to a large arm washer 13 which turns and moves the anti-glare sheet 12. A locking unit 22 is provided within the gearwheels 14 mechanism to preveI!t movement of the anti-glare sheet 12 outside the standar visor 11. A sliding ratchet 20 or turn knob device is provided on the outside of the standard visor 11 to turn the gearwheel 14 mechanism and move the anti-glare sheet 11 to the desired position.
Version 3 ELECTRICAL PUSH SWITCH BUTTON.
ANTI-GLARE SEE THROUGH VISOR comprising a standard sun visor 11 in which is housed a movable anti-glare sheet 12 arid means of moving this sheet are series of pulley ears 23 and bands 15 held within the standard visor 11.
Push switch buttons 16 activate a series of pulley gears 23 and bands 15 which in turn moves a large arm washer l3 that is connected from the pulley gears 23 to the anti-glare sheet 12. movement stops when the push switch button 16 is released or if it connects with a micro switch 19 when the limit of movement for the anti-glare sheet 12 is reached.
The electric circuit 24 is powered by either a seperate battery 17 held within the standard visor 11 or through the vehicle battery, and powders the motor 18 that is also h;d within the standard visor 11, when the push switch buttons are operated to move the anti-glare sheet to the desired position.
