Description

INTELLECTUAL TRAINING PICTURE BOOK The present invention relates to an intellectual training picture book, and in particular to an intellectual training picture book with seals, for cultivating and improving susceptibility, and powers of concentration. reasoning and observation of infants or children by attaching the seals as puzzle fragments onto a ground sheet to complete a picture.
Conventionally, in a picture book for infants, complete pictures (illustrations) or photographs, and compositions have been printed. Recently, as a pastime picture book or an intellectual training picture book, the following books are suggested: the books onto which seal fragments which are capable of being freely stuck and stripped or jigsaw puzzle fragments can be attached. For example. JU-A-61-29800 discloses a picture book which is partly composed of a magnetic material and has a bag including jigsaw puzzle fragments of magnetic plates onto hich a picture printed sheet is separately attached. Also, JU-A-6-17798 discloses a picture book having a jigsaw puzzle, where jigsaw puzzle fragments are put into a concave portion which is inside a cover or a back cover and which has therein a pressure sensitive adhesive layer.
They have drawbacks of bulkiness and difficulty in handling, due to their thickness derived from the jigsaw puzzle portion. and of liability of loss of the puzzle fragments.
JP-A-2-268791 discloses a pastime picture book comprising a seal pulling-out sheet having seals which exhibit self-adhesion and are capable of re-adhesion; and a ground paper for freely arranging pulled-out seals, on which a resin layer is coated and a landscape is drawn. This also has drawbacks of gradual decrease in adhesion and liability of loss of the pulled out seals.
In the light of the above drawbacks, it has been desired to provide a picture book which interest infants or children than a picture book having complete pictures; which can stimulate intellectual curiosity; and which is simple in its structure and easy in handling.
Considering the above, the inventor has completed the present invention.
An object of the present invention is therefore to a provide a picture book with seals which is simple in its structure and easy in handling.
Another object of the invention is to provide a picture book which can cultivate and improve susceptibility, and powers of concentration, reasoning and observation of infants and children.
The present invention is an intellectual training picture book with seals, comprising: a seal fragment sheet part in which seal fragments having a separately illustrated picture on the surface thereof and having an adhesive layer on the back surface thereof are arranged on a ground sheet as a stripping sheet to illustrate the picture separately and scatteredly; and a ground sheet part having a attaching portion on which the seal fragments can be attached to reconstitute the picture; the ground sheet part being bound to the book.
According to the present invention, infants and children attach the seal fragments onto the ground sheet part while thinking how the seal fragments should be attached to reconstitute the picture properly. Therefore, it is useful to cultivate and improve susceptivity, and powers of concentration, reasoning and observation of children and infants.
Also, the picture book of the invention has a simple structure.
The picture book is suitable for children and infants of wide ages, since the degree of difficulty can be adjusted by changing the number of fragments of the picture. Fur thermore, the picture book is easy to handle, since the seal fragments once attached onto the ground sheet cannot be stripped and thus they are not lost. The completed picture book can be read repeatedly.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a first reference mark for reconstituting the picture is attached onto each of the seal fragments; and a second reference mark corresponding to the first reference mark is attached onto the ground sheet part, for attaching each of the seal fragments onto the ground sheet with reference to the first reference mark.
According to this embodiment, the picture can be recon stituted by attaching the seal fragments onto respective, proper positions of the ground sheet part, referring to the first and second reference marks. Thus, the reconstitution of the picture is easy for even infants who are particularly very oung. The picture book is therefore helpful to culti vate and improve susceptivity, and powers of concentration, reasoning, and observation of such infants.
The invention will now be described further by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of an intellectual training picture book with seals according to the present invention.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a back cover portion of the intellectual training picture book shown in Fig. 1.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the state that a picture of the intellectual training picture book shown in Fig. 1 is completed.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of an intellectual training picture book 10 with seals according to the present invention, specifically, a left-hand page and a corresponding right-hand page of the book. On the lefthand page 12, a composition is printed. This composition is, for example, one suggesting, in a riddle style, a picture to be completed on the right hand page 14. The low portion of this page 12 has a space for describing, for example, a title of the picture when it is completed.
Reasoning power can be cultivated by imaging the picture to be completed. Also, power for making a composition can be cultivated by making a composition and writing it on the space 15.
The right-hand page 14 has thereon a printed frame in which consecutive numbers as a reference mark are provided.
The page 14 having this frame 16 functions as a ground sheet.
A seal-fragment sheet 18 has many seal fragments on which a picture is printed and arranged separately and at random. Each of the seal fragments has a number 20 as a reference mark for reconstituting the picture and has a adhesive layer on the back surface thereof. The seal fragments 22 are arranged, not in an order of consecutive numbers but at random, and are attached to a stripping sheet 24 for protecting the adhesive layer.
Specifically, this sheet 18 is formed by sticking, to the stripping sheet 24, a sheet 24B, where the seal fragments 22 which can be stripped and which a picture is printed separately in a random arrangement on are connected to each other through a frame-like perforation or a cut line 24A. The seal fragments 22, each of which has the cut line 24A as a boundary line, have a smaller area than the printed area. As a result, they can avoid a condition that each of the seal fragments 22 partly has a blank, even if printing shear occurs (that is, even if the border of the printed area does not match with the cut line 24A). Therefore, when all of the seal fragments 22 are stripped from the stripping sheet 24, there remains a frame portion (corresponding to "a surrounding portion having a width" in the attached claims) whose form is made evident by stripping the seal fragments 22, on the stripping sheet 24.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a back cover portion 26 of the intellectual training picture book 10 shown in Fig. 1. A transparent bag 30 having the seal fragment sheet 18 therein is attached to the back cover 26, which follows the last page 28 of the picture book, by adhesion. In the transparent bag 30, put are all of the seal fragment sheets 18. Each of the sheet 18 can reconstitute each picture for the picture book. The transparent bag 30 has an opening (not illustrated) for taking out the seal fragment sheets 18.
An adhesive agent constituting the adhesive layer of the seal fragments, and the stripping sheet, which are not limited to specific types, may be selected from any conventional adhesive agents and any stripping sheets.
Pictures of the intellectual training picture book 10 are completed by means of taking out the seal fragment sheet 18 from the transparent bag 30; stripping respective seal fragments 22 arranged at random from the stripping sheet 24 by use of the cut line 24A as a boundary line; and attaching them into a predetermined position within the frame 16 in which consecutive numbers are provided to reconstitute each picture.
Infants or children have interest in how picture will be completed by attaching seal fragments one by one onto the ground sheet, so that they are cultivate in susceptibility, powers of concentration, reasoning and observation. They can also hae a satisfactory feeling of completing the picture book.
Furthermore, a conventional adhesive agent which is used on the back surface of the seal fragments is not capable of re-adhesion. For this reason, infants must pay attention to attaching the seal fragments into the frame so that they are improved in attention power and skill with their fingers, as well as the power of concentration. In addition, development of their brains is accelerated by moving their arms and fingers.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the state that a picture of the intellectual training picture book shown in Fig.
1 is completed. On the right-hand page 14 of the intellectual training picture book 10, the picture is completed. On the corresponding left-hand page 12, a composition is printed which corresponds to the picture. Seal fragments 22 for all pictures to be completed on all pages are attached into proper positions within respective frames 16, so as to complete the intellectual training picture book 10. The completed picture book 10 can be read as an usual picture book repeatedly, since all of the complete pictures are fixed by the adhesive agent.
In case where, for example, a picture of a maze or a mistake-searching picture is used as a picture of sealfragment sheet, after the seal fragments are attached onto the picture book, the picture book itself can also be enjoyed.
In the above embodiment, reference numbers 20 as an example of a reference mark are provided on the seal fragments and the ground paper, so as to reconstitute a picture.
This embodiment is especially suitable to infants. However, the reference mark is dispensable. While seal fragments of a picture which are arranged at random are watched, the picture can be reconstituted by attaching the fragments onto a ground paper, in order. The intellectual training picture book of the invention which does not have any reference marks requires a higher level of powers of observation and reasoning, so that it is proper for, e.g., school children.
The degree of difficulty in reconstitution of a picture can be adjusted, dependently on the number of separate fragments for the picture, i.e., on how many fragments the picture is divided into. Thus, the present invention provides intellectual training picture books which are suitable for children and infants of wide ages.
When any reference marks are not used, a picture which is the same or geometrically similar to a picture to be completed (e.g., a picture of a reduced scale) may be optionally indicated on any page of the intellectual training book 10. This can help operation of reconstitution of the picture.
In view of easiness of manufacturing, it is preferred that all of seal fragment sheets are put into a bag and provided at the picture book as in the above embodiment.
The bag in which the seal fragment sheets are put, which is not limited to a specific tpe, is preferably one of a transparent or semi-transparent material, by which the inside sheets can be found. The bag may have an opening portion which can be freely opened and closed, for example by sealing. Alternatively, it may have a usual opening.
Furthermore, to fix the bag to a picture book, it may be bound to the picture book, or may be attached to a cover or a back cover thereof, for example, by an adhesive agent or pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape.
A seal fragment sheet itself may be kept by binding it to a picture book, between corresponding pages, that is, between the page in which the corresponding composition is printed and the page, as a ground sheet, on which the frame for attaching the seal fragments is printed. In this case, preferably the seal fragment sheet has perforations to easily remove the remaining sheet after stripping the seal fragments.
In the printed frame into which numbers are attached, of the above embodiment, the numbers are printed in a consecutive order. However, the order of numbers may be any one, so as to make it possible to reconstitute a picture by referring to the corresponding numbers on seal fragments of a seal fragment sheet. For example, the numbers on seal fragments on which a picture is separated and arranged at random, of a seal fragment sheet, are provided in a consecu tive order, and the numbers on a ground paper are provided to correspond to the seals. Reference marks may be other marks than the numbers, for example, alphabet, A, B, C...
or O , As described above, according to the intellectual training picture book with seals of the invention, a picture is completed by stripping seal fragments from a stripping sheet and attaching the fragments one by one into a frame having numbers therein and printed on a ground sheet.
A composition corresponding to a picture may be one about anyone or anything, for example, tales such as old tales and nursery tales, things or affairs relating to a life, such as conveyances, circumstances of a town, a life of a kindergarten, animals and plants which interest infants. The composition may be one in a riddle style, as in the above embodiment. According to the present invention, there can be obtained a big picture book in which a big picture can be reconstituted by many seal fragments, or a small book of a pamphlet style which has relatively few pages.
