Abstract

A damping means in the form of a pre-damper member (14) for use in a clutch driven plate (1) of a vehicle transmission. The clutch driven plate has a central hub (10) for operative connection with an associated driven shaft. The hub is capable of limited rotation relative to the remainder of the driven plate and a plurality of leaf springs (23) oppose this limited relative rotation thus damping torsional vibrations in the driven plate. The leaf springs (23) may be integral with an outer ring member (22) to form a one piece damping means. The outer ring member (52) may be formed from a plastics material. <IMAGE>
