Abstract

A pull ring (3) for a gable top container for liquids such as milk, beverages, washing liquids and others of similar nature is enclosed within the inner walls (2) of the gable top and comes into view once the gable top is pulled apart. The ring is utilised to pull the inner walls outwards to create a pouring spout to deliver the contents. This pull ring can either be an integral part of the container or it could be attached to the said container within its foldable flaps at the top. <IMAGE>

PULL RING THIS INVENTION RELATES TO S CONTAINER FOR MILK. BEVERSeES. ETC.
THIS IS A CONTAINER FOR STORING BEVERAGES HAVING A DISPENSING MEANS BY WAY OF A SPROUT WHICH CAN BE PULLED OUTWARDS BY MEANS OF A RING(3) WHICH IS FIXED TO AND ENCLOSED BETWEEN THE TWO TUCKFORMING PANELS.
BACKGROUND THIS INVENTION IS RELATED TO CONTAINERS MADE FROM FOLDABLE LIGHTWEIGHT MATERIALS SUCH AS CARDBOARD AND USED TO STORE LIQUIDS SUCH AS MILK, BEVERAGES, WASHING LIQUIDS AND OTHER SUCH LIQUIDS.
PRESENTLY THERE ARE SEVERAL SUCH CONTAINERS AVAILABLE FOR STORING LIQUIDS.THEY COME IN VARIOUS SHAPES AND SIZES, AND MADE FROM PAPER. CARDBOARD,PLASTIC AND OTHER LIKE MATERIALS.THEY ARE EASILY MADE AT A RELATIVELY LOW COST AND FOUND TO BE CONVENIENT IN STORING AND CARRYING BEVERAGES.
THESE TYPE OF CONTAINERS HAVE A FLAT TOP (WHICH CAN BE MADE INTO A GABLE TOP BY PULLING THE FOLDED GABLE UP) OR GABLE TOP WITH MEANS OF PULLING ONE SIDE OF THE GABLE TOP TO FORM A POURING SPROUT.HOWEVER, THESE TYPE OF CONTAINERS WITH A GABLE TOP HAS A DRAWBACK IN OPERATION(THAT IS FORMING THE POURING SPROUT) THE GABLE TOP CAN BE PULLED OPEN FROM ONE END TO REVEAL AN INNER WALL WHICH HAS TO BE PULLED OUTWARDS TO CREATE THE POURING SPROUT TO DISCHARGE THE LIQUID.IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO PULL THIS INNER WALL OUTWARDS TO CREATE THE POURING SPROUT.
OBJECTIVES THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS INVENTION IS TO PROVIDE A SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE MEANS TO ASSIST THE LAST OPERATION IN THE SEQUENCE ( PULLING THE INNER WALL OUTWARDS) TO CREATE THE POURING SPROUT OF THE CONTAINER.
ANOTHER OBJECTIVE IS TO MODIFY THE EXISTING CONTAINER DESIGN WITH A MINIMUM OF INTERFERENCE TO THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
THIS IS A BOX CONTAINER TO STORE BEVERAGES OR SIMILAR LIQUIDS WITH A FLAT OR GABEL END. THE MEANS OF DISPENSING THE LIQUID IS BY FORMING A POURING SPROUT.THE INVENTION IS A RING MADE OF THE SAME MATERIAL AS THE CONTAINER AND IS ATTACHED TO THE POURING SPROUT THUS ASSISTING THE OPERATION OF PULLING THE POURING SPROUT OUTWARDS.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DR4WIN6S A BOX CONTAINER WITH A FLAT TOP WHICH IS OPENED BY FIRST PULLING THE GABLE TOP (1) VERTICAL AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWING AND SECONDLY ONE END OF THE GABLE TOP IS PULLED APART TO REVEAL THE INNER WALLS(2) WITH THE INVENTION (3) BEING COMING TO VIEW WHICH FORMS A REINFORCED RING MADE OF CARD BOARD OR SIMILAR LIGHTWEIGHT MATERIAL WHICH IN-TURN CAN BE PULLED OUTWARDS TO CREATE A POURING SPROUT TO DISCHARGE THE LIQUID.
THE CONTAINER WHICH IS FORMED WITH CARDBOARD, PAPERBOARD OR SIMILAR FLEXIBLE MATERIAL MAY BE COATED WITH A COAT OF PLASTIC MATERIAL ON ONE OR BOTH SIDES.THIS CONTAINER COMPRISING SEVERAL CLOSURE PANELS WILL WILL INCORPORATE THE SAID INVENTION IN THOSE CLOSURE PANELS.
PREFERABLY, THE CONTAINER IS A CARTON WILL HAVE TWO TOP FORMING PANELS INTERCONNECTED BY TUCK FORMING PANELS, WITH SEALING PANELS CONNECTED TO THESE PANELS .IN SUCH A CARTON (THE INVENTION) BEING REINFORCED STRIP FORMING A SHAPE OF A RING WILL BE CONNECTED TO OUTSIDE OF THE TUCKFORMING PANELS, CONNECTING THE RING AT THE JOINT WHERE THE TWO TUCK FORMING PANELS MEET.WHEN THE TOP OF THE CARTON IS CLOSED FORMING A GABLE TOP, THE RING WILL FOLD INSIDE THE TUCK FORMING PANELS BECOMING INVISIBLE TO THE OUTSIDE.
THE SAID PULLING RING MAY BE INCORPORATED TO THE MANUFACTURE OF THE CARTON BY MAKING THE TOP OF THE PANELS(2) INTO A DOUBLE LOOP OR IT COULD BE FIXED TO THE MADE BLANK CARTON.

Claims (6)

1. A PULLING DEVICE FOR A BOX CONTAINER (STORING MILK, BEVERAGES, ETC.) CONNECTED TO THE SAID CONTAINER TO FORM A RING. THE SAID RING BEING ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE CONTAINER AT THE POINT OF INTERSECTION OF THE TWO TUCKFORMING PANELS.
2. PULLING DEVICE AS CLAIMED IN THE CLAIM 1, THE RING COULD BE READY FORMED OR FOLDED.
3. PULLING RING AS CLAIMED IN THE CLAIM 1 AND 2, THE SAID RING COULD BE ATTACHED AT THE JUNCTION OF THE TWO TUCKFORMING PANELS AT A POINT ALONG THE JUNCTION.
4. PULLING RING AS CLAIMED IN CLAIMS 1,AND 2, CAN EITHER BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CONTAINER, OR IT COULD BE ATTACHED TO THE READY FORMED BOX CONTAINER.
5. PULLING RING CLAIMED IN CLAIMS 1 AND 2, CAN BE MADE OF THE SAME MATERIAL AS THE CONTAINER OR OTHER FLEXIBLE MATERIAL.
6. A PULLING RING FOR THE BOX CONTAINER SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH REFERENCE TO THE FIGURES 1-2 OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING.
