Description

Title - BONE ASH CONTAINERS The present invention relates to bone ash containers, and relates more particularly to such a bone ash container which comprises a container body for keeping the bone ashes of a dead body, and a cover shell made in the form of an idol and covered on the container body to seal out moisture.
In recent years, for the sake of environment protection and effective utilization of limited land space, the governments of most countries are intensively encouraging their people to burn dead bodies to ashes instead to burying them in the ground. After the set of burning a dead body, a bone ash container may be used to keep the bone ashes of the dead hody. Conventional bone ash containers are commonly shaped like a cylindrical or rectangular case decorated with patterns, words, or the portrait of the dead person on the outside wall and covered with a top cover. Because of limited contact area between the case and the top cover, moisture may penetrate into the container to moisten the bone ashes.
The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. According to one aspect of the present invention, the bone ash container comprises a cover shell made in the form of an idol and having a receiving chamber on a bottom wall thereof, and a container body having a storage chamber fitted into the receiving chamber of the cover shell for holding the bone ashes of a dead body and an outward bottom flange stopped outside the bottom wall of the cover shell.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the idol-shaped cover shell can be put at one side by the container body for the survivors of the deceased person's family to worship as the bone ashes of the dead body of the deceased person are put in the container body.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the dignified outer appearance of the bone ash container greatly induces people to use it for keeping the bone ashes of their forebears at home.
According to still another aspect of the present invention, the cover shell can be made in the shape of any of a variety of gods to fit people of different religions.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is an exploded view partially in cutaway of a bone ash container according to one embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2 is an assembly view in section of the bone ash container shown in Figure 1; Fig. 3 shows an alternate form of the present invention, in which a desiccant is stored inside the cover shell; Fig. 4 is an exploded view of another alternate form of the present invention; Fig. 5 is an assembly view in section of the alternate form of Figure 4, showing a water seal ring sealed between the cover shell and the container body and a desiccant received inside the cover shell;; Fig. 6 shows still another alternate form of the present invention Fig. 7 is an assembly view in section of the alternate form of Figure 6, showing the outer thread of the container body threaded into the inner thread of the cover shell; Fig. 8 shows still another alternate form of the present invention; Fig. 9 is an assembly view in section of the alternate form of Figure 8, showing the outer thread of the container body threaded into the inner thread of the cover shell and the desiccant stored in the inside hole inside the cover shell; Fig. 10 shows still another alternate form of the present invention; and Fig. 11 is an assembly view in section of the alternate form of Figure 10, showing the gap between the topmost edge of the container body and the top wall of the receiving chamber of the cover shell sealed by a water seal ring.
Referring to Figures 1 and 2, an ash bone container in accordance with the present invention is generally comprised of a cover shell 1 and a container body 2. The cover shell 1 is made in the form of an idol, having a bottom chamber 11. The container body 2 fits into the bottom chamber 11 of the cover shell 1, having an outward bottom flange 21 stopped outside the bottom chamber 11 of the cover shell 1.
As an alternate form of the present invention, an inside hole 12 may be made inside the bottom chamber 11 for holding a desiccant 3 as shown in Figure 3.
Referring to Figure 4, a water seal ring 4 may be installed to seal the gap between the cover shell 1 and the container body 2.
Referring to Figure 5, the water seal ring 4 is retained around the container body 2 and retained between the outward flange 21 of the container body 2 and the blotto of the cover shell 1, the desiccant 3 is stored in the inside hole 12 inside the bottom chamber 11 of the cover shell 1.
Figure 6 shows another alternate form of the present invention. As illustrated, the container body 2 has an outer thread 22 around the outside wall above the outward bottom flange 21, the cover shell 1 has an inner thread 111 around the periphery of the bottom chamber 11 at the bottom. By threading the outer thread 22 into the inner thread 111, the cover shell 1 and the container body 2 are fastened together in a water tight manner. Figure 7 shows the outer thread 22 of the container body 2 threaded into the inner thread 111 of the cover shell 1, and the desiccant 3 stored in the inside hole 12 inside the cover shell 1.
Referring to Figures 8 and 9, a water seal ring 4 may be mounted around the container body 2 and supported on the outward bottom flange 21 before the outer thread 22 of the container body is threaded into the inner thread 111 of the cover shell 1.
Figures 10 and 11 show still another alternate form of the present invention. The cover shell 1 comprises an inside annular groove 13 inside the bottom chamber 11 around the inside hole 12. The topmost edge of the container body 2 fits into the inside annular groove 13. A water seal ring 5 is mounted within the inside annular groove 13 to seal the gap between the inside annular groove 13 and the topmost edge of the container body 2. When assembled, as shown in Figure 11, the water seal ring 5 seal the gap between the topmost edge of the container body 2 and the inside wall of the cover shell 1, and the desiccant 3 is stored in the inside hole 12 to remove all moistures from the container body 2.
While only few embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described, it will be understood that various modifications and changes could be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
