Abstract

A clothes hanger has a body 1 which is mounted inside a vehicle. Two arms 2 are attached to the body. When in use the arms are moved to form the shape of a clothes hanger. When not in use the arms are moved to allow them to retract to an unobtrusive position. <IMAGE>

Description

In-Vehicle Jacket Retainer This invention relates to an in-vehicle jacket retainer.
It is well appreciated that a vehicle driver upon entering his/her vehicle may wish to remove his/her suit jacket to enable a more comfortable driving position, environment to be attained.
Normally the driver concerned would either use a "hook" provided on the "grab" handle present in some vehicles.
Alternatively a driver may use his/her own clothes hanger and hook this on the grab handle.
A hook however does not allow the suit jacket to hang correctly which eventually can lead to garment wear.
The alternative solution currently adopted is the use of a clothes hanger which allows the jacket to be hung correctly.
However when the clothes hanger is not in use it becomes an object which is either left to hang from a hook, rattle, and cause distraction to the vehicles driver an/or occupants.
Alternatively if the clothes hanger is left loose in the passenger compartment it becomes a potential cause of injury in an accident.
According to the present invention there is provided an invehicle jacket retainer comprising a body in the form of a mounting which is attached within the vehicle.
Two arms are attached to the body in a manner which their movement forms the shape of a clothes hanger when the in-vehicle jacket retainer is in use.
When not in use the movement of the two arms allows them to retract to an unobtrusive position.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:- Figure 1 Illustrates the body with the arms in their retracted position; Figure 2 Illustrates the body with the arms in their operative position viewed from the same point as figure 1; Figure 3 Shows the in-vehicle jacket retainer from above; solid lines illustrating the body (in this example incorporating a grab handle) and arms in their retracted position. While the broken lines illustrate the arms in their operative postion viewed from the same point.
Referring to the drawing the in-vehicle jacket retainer comprises a body 1 ( in this example incorporating a grab handle) which is secured to the interior of the vehicle by a suitable fastening device or method (not shown).
The arms 2 are attached to the body by a means which will allow their movement to form the shape of a clothes hanger.

Claims (1)

  1. An In Vehicle Jacket Retainer compnsing a body in the form of a mounting which is attached within the vehicle. Two arms are attached to the body in a manner which their movement forms the shape of a clothes hanger when the In Vehicle Jacket Retainer is in use. When not in use the movement of the two arms allows them to return to an unobtrusive position.
