Abstract
A deflector shield 1 is shaped so as to follow the shape of the toilet seat 2. It is attached to the underside of the front of the toilet seat between the two front rests 3 and deflects urine back into the bowl that would otherwise leak on to the floor covering. The side facing into the toilet is straight being longer in the centre than either end to ensure the urine will run towards the centre of the shield and drip into the toilet. The top of the deflector shield has a raised edge behind which is positioned a double sided self-adhesive pad with which it can be attached to the toilet seat. The raised edge will stop any urine from seeping through between the top of the shield and the toilet seat. <IMAGE>
Description
TOILET DEFLECTOR SHIELD.
This invention relates to a toilet deflector shield.
When a child is being toilet trained they invariably sit on the front edge of the toilet seat. Consequently they wee between the toilet seat and the toilet bowl wetting the floor covering below.
The deflector shield is attached to the underside of the toilet seat between the two front rests and stops the urine wetting the floor by covering this space. The urine hits the shield and drips into the toilet.
According to the present invention the toilet deflector shield is curved so as to follow the shape of the toilet seat. It is approximately 15 Cms long, 2 Cms across the top and is made of plastic. The side facing into the toilet is straight the bottom of which is curved (3 Cms in the centre and 1.5 Cms at either end) so that the longest part of the shield is in the centre ensuring all drips will run towards the centre of the shield and drip down into the toilet.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the drawing in which:
Fig 1 Shows the deflector shield in position attached to the
underside of the toilet seat between the front rests.
Fig 2 Shows a cross section of the deflector shield.
Fig 3 Shows a front view of the deflector shield.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1 the deflector shield 1 is attached to the underneath of the toilet seat 2 between the two front rests 3.
Figure 2 shows the deflector shield 1 has a raised edge at the top inside corner behind which is positioned a double sided self-adhesive pad 5 with which it can be attached to the underside of the toilet seat. This will ensure that the top of the shield will touch the toilet seat thereby stopping the urine hitting the self-adhesive pad. 4 represents the toilet bowl.
Figure 3 illustrates the shape of the deflector shield 1 as seen from the front clearly demonstrating the shape of the shield to ensure any drips will congregate in the middle and drip down into the bowl.
Claims (2)
1. The toilet deflector shield is curved so as to follow the shape of the toilet seat.
2. The deflector shield is designed to stop urine leaking on to the floor.
