Abstract
A lockable security stand which can be bolted onto a drawbar of a trailer, or to any piece of equipment, to engage the ground and hold it at a height at which it cannot readily be towed or moved by a thief, so that it may be secure. A bracket 10 is mounted by bolts with self locking nuts inside, and contains a deadbolt acting lock. Over bracket 10 is fitted a cover 11, both having a slot within them, through which a leg 12 is inserted. On one side of leg 12 are two holes through which the deadlock bolt 16 enters, thus securing the stand in either the up or down position. The lock is a push button type requiring a key to unlock. The leg 12 when within the slots of both cover 11 and bracket 10 holds everything together. To hamper cutting through, the leg may have a revolving bar within it. <IMAGE>
Description
SECURITY PROP STAND
This invention relates to a security stand for trailers and equipment.
The stand has been invented so as to be bolted onto a trailer drawbar or a piece of equipment thus is always available and readily accessable.
This stand has been designed to be a theft deterrant by holding the trailer or piece of equipment at a height that cannot be readily towed or pulled away by the oppurtune thief.The simple design enables easy use by incorporating push button locking and the sealing of all parts and is bolted onto anything by bolts with selr locking nuts within its own casing.By fixing this stand to any trailer or piece of equipment one always has a means of security
The design of the invention will now be described by way of example wit reference to the accompanying drawings in which :
Figure 1 shows in perspective,the stand as would be fixed to a chassis in secure parking mode.
Figure 2 shows the stand in raised transportable position;
Figure 3 shows the part of the stand that is bolted onto the chassis or part or the equipment to be secured;
Figure 4 shows the part that will be placed over the illustration of
Figure 3;
Figure 5 shows the leg with internal anti cut bar within that slides up through the slot of Fig.4 and the the socket of Fig.3
Figure 6 gives a view down through Fig.3 showing the lock in its released position.
Figure 7 gives a view down through Fig.3 illustrating the push button deadlock in the locked position with its bolt that will protrude into the holes into the leg.
Referring to tlie drawing the security stand comprises of a metal bracket 10 which is bolted onto a chassis or point of the piece of equipment which will hold it up in the air.Bracket 10 comprises of two fixing points 13 to which it is bolted onto a given point by high tensile bolts with self locking nuts inside (lock side).This bracket contains within it a slot 14 which the leg slides up through,on the front of this slot is fixed a deadlock 15 of which when the lock button 16 is pushed a bolt protrudes within the slot and locks,as illustrated in Figures 6 and 7.
Cover 11 as illustrated in Figure 4 which again has a slot 18 slightly larger than the leg 12 in both the top and base fits onto the side of bracket 10 within the top and bottom lips of 10.Cover 11 has flat steel plates 19 to strengthen cover when fitted,also has a hole 17 of which the push button 16 of the lock 15 protrudes through in order to be operated.
The leg 12 is of box steel with cap and base plate,within it is a steel bar 22 which is fitted through drilled plates 23 and capped 24 either end.This is done so that bar revolves within box so as to foil persons cutting through box.The leg has two holes in one side for the deadlock bolt to enter when operated.
Leg 12 goes up through slots 18 of cover 11 and through the slot 14 of bracket 10.This action means that cover 11 is now secured to bracket 10 and leg slides up and down.The leg can now be either locked in the up or down position by the deadlock bolt 16 being pushed into the hole 21 of the leg 12.To release the deadlock a key is inserted into the button 16 of the lock 15 and the deadlock comes out.
Claims (5)
1 A form of security stand which can be fitted permanently onto any piece of equipment or drawbar of a trailer which can be locked thus making it impossible to take the equipment without the stand being unlocked and raised.A bracket is bolted onto a chassis or mounting point ,it has a metal cover and a leg is slid up within a slot and is ]ockable either up or down.
2 A stand as described in claim 1 which when assembled and mounted holds itself together and be secure by its design.
3 A stand as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 where the leg has an additional bar which will rotate within it to hamper anyone trying to sazr through it.
4 A stand as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 or claim 3 which incorporates a push button deadlock bolt.
5 A stand sustantial ly as described herein with reference to figures 1-7 of the accompanying drawings.
