Abstract
A hoop a plurality of balls 10 each having a central hole 11, a plurality of tubular members 30 fitted alternately between the balls 10 and having a central passage 31, and a string 20 extending through the central hole 11 of the balls 10 and the central passage 31 of the tubular members 30, whereby the hoop can apply massage to the user thereby lessening pain and stiffness and removing superfluous fat. <IMAGE>
Description
TITLE: A HULA HOOP
This invention relates to an improved hula hoop.
It has been found that the conventional hula hoop is simply a toroidal member for twirling around about the body by movements like those of the hula, a native
Hawaiian dance. However, such a hula hoop cannot give effective exercise to the user and furthermore the use thereof has involved a considerable degree of monotony.
The exercise is tedious and more than a little self-discipline is required to maintain a regimen of regular workouts.
Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved hula hoop which can obviate and mitigate the above-mentioned drawbacks.
This invention relates to an improved hula hoop.
It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a hula hoop which is flexible in property.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a hula hoop which can be used as a massaging device.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide a hula hoop which ean assist one to recover one S figure after giving birth.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide a hula hoop which can give exercise to one's neck thereby preventing and curing high blood pressure.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a hula hoop which can give exercise to one's chest muscles.
The present invention provides a hula hoop as set out in Claim 1 or 2 or 3.
Other objects and merits and a fuller understanding of the present invention will be obtained by those having ordinary skill in the art when the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment is read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein like numerals refer to like or similar parts.

For purpose to promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings. Specific language will be used to describe same. It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, such alternations and further modifications in the illustrated device, and such further applications of the principles of the invention as illustrated herein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates.
With reference to the drawings and in particular to
FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 thereof, the hula hoop according to the present invention mainly comprises a plurality of balls 10, a plurality of tubular members 30, and a string 20.
As illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, a tubular member 30 is fitted between every two balls 10. The ball 10 is formed with a central hole 11 while the tubular member 30 has a central passage 31. The string 30 extends through the balls 10 and the tubular members 30 to form a flexible hula loop.
As the hula hoop is a flexible member, it will contact one's body over a larger area than the conventional hula hoop when in use.
FIGS. 1 and 4 illustrates a first application of the present invention. As shown, the hula hoop is being used to twirl around one's body in play or exercise by rotating the hips.
FIG. 5 illustrates a third application of the present invention. As illustrated, the hula hoop is being used to give exercise to one's arms.
FIG. 6 illustrates a third application of the present invention. As may be seen, the hula hoop is being used to give exercise to one's neck thereby preventing and curing high blood pressure.
The invention is naturally not limited in any sense to the particular features specified in the forgoing or to the details of the particular embodiment which has been chosen in order to illustrate the invention.
Consideration can be given to all kinds of variants of the particular embodiment which has been described by way of example and of its constituent elements without thereby departing from the scope of the invention. This invention accordingly includes all the means constituting technical equivalents of the means described as well as their combinations.
Claims (3)
1. A hula hoop comprising:
a plurality of balls each having a center hole;
a plurality of tubular members fitted alternatively between said balls and having a central passage; and
a string extending through the central hole of said balls and the central passage of said tubular members.
2. A hula hoop comprising:
a plurality of balls each having a center hole;
a plurality of tubular members fitted alternately between said balls and having a central passage; and
a string extending through the central hole of said balls and the central passage of said tubular members.
3. A hula hoop substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
