Implements with adjustable tool frames; disc-tool implements; adjusting and lifting parts; tools.-A machine for treating grass land for aeration purposes &c. comprises cutters for severing the turf and roots, shoes or pressers for pressing down the turf around the cutter, and means operating behind the cutters to burst or open out the cuts and, if desired, loosen the soil beneath. The cutters are carried by double bars 6 independently pivoted on a cross shaft 8. Each cutter may consist of a plate 12 having a curved or V-shaped lower end sharpened at its edges. The plate 12 passes through a slotted shoe 14 having an unturned toe, and is adjustably connected to it by bolts 17. Behind each cutter 12 is a knife or coulter 18 of wedgeshaped cross-section, adjustably fastened to the bar 6 by a clamp 19 provided with set-screws 20. The cutters 12 may be arranged in one or two rows across the machine. Rotary or fixed discs may be substituted for the cutters 12, 18. Each bar 6 is pressed down by a spring 13 surrounding links 28 and bearing on an adjustable pin 25. The upper ends of all the springs bear against a cross-bar 22 adjustable by means of a handlever 21. The machine may be raised or lowered by turning the cranked axles 4 of the wheels 3 by means of hand-levers.
