Abstract

An arrangement in oil burners comprises a frame and a cover, used for mounting a fan housing. The frame 1 is designed as a housing divided into compartments (4, 5 Fig.3), one (5) of which accommodates the entire or substantially the entire fan wheel 7 and forms, together with the cover (2 Fig.2), the fan housing. The cover (2) has a curved tongue 12 which partially encompasses the fan wheel (7) and defines a substantial portion of the fan curve and connecting with an air and oil outlet 13 provided in the cover. <IMAGE>

Description

ARRANGEMENT IN AN OIL BURNER The present invention relates to an arrangement in oil burners.
Known oil burners are generally designed with a frame and a cover, on which the fan with its housing and the motor are mounted. The entire fan housing with optional guide rails is specially designed to suit a particular fan wheel, and often consists of two halves meeting in a diametral plane passing through the fan wheel. Also, these halves together define the fan outlet, see e.g. Fig. 5, illustrating a known fan housing in an oil burner.
Other necessary equipment, such as supply-air register, exhaust-air register and oil pump, is mounted on the frame.
This oil burner design having proved quite expensive, the object of the invention is to provide a simpler and more cost-effective oil burner design.
According to the invention, there is thus provided a frame which accommodates or on which are mounted all the burner components, save a fan-housing component which is essentially decisive of the fan characteristics or the fan curve. The latter component is provided on the frame cover, which also contains the fan outlet. By the invention, it has thus become possible to provide fans having different properties (capacity, efficiency, noise level) setting out from a single frame (housing) and different covers, where the cover dissimilarity resides in different shapes of the fan-housing component, as well as different fan wheels and suction cones.
As a result, the frame can be given a simple design, substantially in the form of a parallelepipedal box.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a side view of a frame assembled with a cover shown in section, Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the cover, Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the frame, with the fan wheel and its motor visible, Fig. 4 is perspective view of a partition with a suction cone, and Fig. 5 illustrates the prior art.
The arrangement according to the invention comprises a frame or a housing 1 and a substantially platelike cover 2 which is attachable to the housing, e.g. by one or more bolts (not shown). By means of a partition 3, the frame 1 is divided into two main compartments 4 and 5, of which one 4 contains a supply-air register 6 and the other 5 a centrifugal fan wheel 7. The partition 3 is mounted in grooves 8 in the frame and is integrally formed with a suction cone 3 extending into the fan wheel 7 in the compartment 3 5. The supply-air register 6 is also mounted in grooves 10 in the compartment 4, the air inlet being designated 11.
The cover has a forwardly projecting curved part 12 at a location fitting over the frame compartment 5 which contains the fan wheel 7. The curved part 12 is integrally formed with the cover and, when the cover is mounted on the frame, defines together with the compartment S the fan housing whose outlet 13 is formed in the cover 2. The curved part 12 determines an essential portion of the fan curve.
On its other side, the partition 3 has an air intake 14 to the suction cone and the fan wheel.
Fig. 3 further shows an oil pump 15 whose connection to the outlet 13 is ncr illustrated, as well as a schematically indicated nozzle register 16, Fig. 1.
These components and the other burner components, gas kets, fixing elements etc. are not illustrated, since they are not important for the understanding of the inventive concept.

CLAIMS:
1. An arrangement in oil burners, comprising a frame and a cover, used for mounting a fan housing, wherein the frame is designed as a housing divided into compartments, one of which accommodates the entire or substantially the entire fan wheel and forms, together with the cover, the fan housing said cover having a curved tongue partially encompassing the fan wheel, said tongue defining a substantial portion of the fan curve and connecting with an air and oil outlet provided in the cover.
2. An arrangement as claimed in claim 1, wherein a partition between the compartment accommodating the fan wheel, and an adjacent compartment is formed with a suction cone extending into the fan wheel.
3. An arrangement as claimed in claim 2, wherein said adjacent compartment contains a releasable supply-air register.
4. An arrangement as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the partition is a compartment separate from the frame.
5. A set consisting of a frame designed in accordance with any one of claims 1 to 4, and a plurality of covers designed in accordance with any one of claims 1 to 4 and having tongues of different curvature for encompassing fan wheels of different diameters.
6. An arrangement in oil burners substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accomanying drawings.
