Abstract

The raised portable floor mat, fabricated from a plastic by moulding, will give a dry and comfortable surface which, after drying the feet will give adequate protection from any water or contaminants which, without utilising the raised floor mat, would be difficult to avoid by standing on the uncovered floor. Means are provided to allow sufficient height to avoid standing liquids of up to 5 mm depth by standing on the raised floor mat. The grilled construction of the invention with the trapezoid section will allow a larger upper area to be presented to the user whilst retaining a smaller area on the underside increasing the grip on the surface it is used on and decreasing the risk of slipping or overbalancing to the user. The trapezoid section of the grille will also allow the raised floor mat to be rolled up for ease of transport. <IMAGE>

Description

RAISED FLOOR MAT This invention relates to a raised floor mat.
Many types of floor mat exist, this mat is specifically designed for the use of a person or persons to stand on after taking part in nctivities which result in dressing on floor surfaces that may be wet or contaminated in such a way that will make the dressing operation. without the raised floor mat. result in wet feet or footwear or contamination of the feet or footwear by chemicals or infections.
According to the invention the height that the raised floor mat will be should be enough to distance the user sufficiently from the surface to which they seek protection.
The size is sufficient to accomodate both feet of the largest shoe size to facilitate usage by any person Means are to be provided to allow the raised floor mat to be rolled up to be portable from one place to another.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing (panel e) in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective the plan view of the raised floor mat.
Figure 2 illustrates a section of the grilled design.
Figure 3 shows the raised floor mat in the rolled up position used for transport and storage.
Refering to the drawings the mat as described is fabricated by injection moulding into a pre-prepared mould in a plastic which ip flexible and durable and suitable for the purpose of withstanding the effects uf water or mild chemical attack from the surface it is placed upon.
in order to provide a comfortable upper surface and a non-slip lower surface the ribs 1 are so shaped to allow the above requirements of the invention to be achieved.
The shape of the ribs 1 will also facilitate compact rolling of the invention to allow ease of transport from one place to another. figure 3.

Claims (4)

1 A raised floor mat, moulded in plastic material for use of a person or person taking part in activities which result in dressing or standing on wet or contaminated floor surfaces, allowing insulation from the actual floor surface, means being provided for portability , comfort and safety for the user.
2 A raised floor mat as claimed in claim 1 wherin means are provided to allow easy transport by rolling or folding the raised floor mat to a smaller size.
3 A raised floor mat as claimed in claim 1 and 2 wherin means are provided to allow a comfortable standing surface to be presented to the user combinin a small footprint on the opposite side to allow the invention to give a safe standing on slippery surfaces.
4 A raised floor mat substantially as described herin with reference to figures 1 to 3 of the accompanying drawing.
