Description

Guttering Cleaning Tool.
This invention relates to a guttering cleaning tool The difficulties of cleaning out the guttering of buildings are well known. Due to over hanging roof tiles or slates, access to the guttering may be restricted. Often when one does manage to get one's hand into the guttering, it is difficult to manoeuvre one's in order to clean debris from the guttering. All to frequently injury in the from of cuts to the hands may result from the over hanging tiles or slates.
The cleaning tool comprises a piastic blade in the form of a semi-circle and a plastic handle with a metal rod running through it, which is attached to the blade sleeve into which the semi-circular blade has been affixed. The blade hen attached may be inserted in the guttering ready to be pulled along in order to clean the guttering. The handle of the tool is detachable in order that it be reattached by the user when necessary.
There is a second blade shaped squarely at its bottom which may be attached when necessary for different shaped guttering.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be describea by was of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure (1) shows in perspective the cleaning tool. with a blade in position in the blade sleeve.
Figure (2) illustrates the blade sleeve, with handle and blade detached.
Figure (3) indicates the position of the handle in reiation to the blade sleeve.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1, the tool comprises a blade sleeve 1 into which a cleaning blade 5 and or 6 maybe inserted as indicated by direction arrow in Fiu 3.
Figure 1 shows the tool handle 2 inserted into the blade sleeve 1 via a handle slot 4. The handle may then be secured firmly into place by the use of a securing pin 3. passing vertically through the blade sleeve 1 and the handle 2 thus securing it in position.
A cleaning blade 5 or b may b inserted and secured into the blade sleeve 1, by a screw 8 passing horizontally through the blade sleeve 1. and into the cleaning blade 5 or r. thus holding it in position.
In this situation the cleaning tool maybe inserted into guttering in order to scoop debris obstructing the said guttering.
If the shape of the guttering necessitates. the cleaning blade 5 may be substituted for a different shaped blade 6.
If the shape of the guttering necessitates, the cleaning blade 5 may be substituted for a different shaped blade 6.
This is achieved by removing the screw 8 from both the blade sleeve 1 and the blade 5. The blade 5 may now be removed from the blade sleeve 1. The cleaning blade 6 may then be inserted into the blade sleeve 1 as indicated by the direction arrow as in Fig 3. The blade is then secured by inserting the screw 8 into the blade sleeve 1 and through to the blade 6.
It may become necessary from time to time to change the position of the tool handle 2, if for example a person may be left handed, as the previous demonstration may be seen to be geared towards persons who are right handed. This is achieved by removing pin 3 from the blade sleeve 1. The handle 2, may then be removed from the blade sleeve 1 via slot 4. It is then reinserted into slot 9 into the blade sleeve 1 and may then be secured into position by pin 10.
In order to return to the original positions of the cleaning tool carry out the steps described above in reverse sequence.
