Abstract

The weed extracting tool comprises a handle 4 connected to a shaft having a pair of jaws 1, 2 at the lower end thereof. One half of the jaws 2 is attached to the end of the shaft while the other half 1, pivotally connected to the first half, has a heel portion 3 extending therefrom. The tool is positioned over a weed and pushed into the ground. The handle 4 is then moved against the heel 3 of the tool in one action the tool grips the weed and extracts it. <IMAGE>

DESCRIPTION OF LAWN WEEDING TOOL THE TOOL COMPRISES A FIXED JAW ATTATCHED TO A TUBULAR HANDLE.
A MOVING JAW,PIVIOTED ON THE FIXED JAW.THIS JAW IS EXTENDED TO PROVIDE A HEEL LEAVER.THE WEIGHT OF WHICH KEEPS THE JAW OPEN.
WHEN IN POSSITION OVER A WEED THE HANDLE CAN BE MOVED BACKWARD EXERTING GREAT LEAVERAGE AT THE JAW POINT, CONTINUED MOVEMENT ENABLES A FURTHER LEAVERAGE AGAINST THIS HEAL TO LIFT THE WEED OUT.
LIFT THE TOOL UP AND THE JAW WILL OPEN AND RELEASE THE EXTRACTED WEED.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIM CONSISTING OF JAWS ITEMS 1 AND 2 JOINED TOGETHER BY A PIVOT SPINDLE ITEM 5, ALLOWING AN OPENING AND CLOSING MOVEMENT, OPERATED NY THE HANDLE SHAFT ITEM 4.
    THIS CREATES REVERAGE AGAINST THE HEEL LEVER ITEM 3.
    AFTER PRESSING THE JAWS INTO THE GROUND, THE WEED BEING INEETWEEN THE JAWS, THE ACTION OF THE HANDLE SHAFT ITEM 4 MOVEL IN THE DIRECTION OF ARROW B, CLOSES THE JAWS ONTO THE WEED.
    CONTINUED MOVEMENT IN THIS DIRECTION CREATES A LEVERAGE AGAINST THE HEEL ITEM 3 ANS LIFTS THE WEED FROM THE GROUND.
    THE SHAPE OF THE JAWS IS SUCH AS TO MOULD THE TOP OF THE WEED TO A LARGER DIMENSION THAN AT THE GRIP POSITION, THUS ENSURING EXTRACTION.
    THE WEIGHT OF THE HEEL LEVER ITEM 3 WILL THEN OPEN THE JAWS AND RELEASE THE EXTRACTED WEED.
